Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible women who nurture, guide, encourage, sacrifice, and love so deeply.

Today we celebrate mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, foster mothers, spiritual mothers, and all women who have helped shape lives through compassion and care. Your love reflects the heart of God in countless quiet and powerful ways.

We also hold close in prayer those for whom this day carries grief, longing, complicated emotions, or cherished memories. May you feel surrounded by grace, comfort, and love today.

Thank you for the countless meals prepared, prayers whispered, tears wiped away, lessons taught, rides given, hugs shared, and faith lived out every single day.

You are a blessing beyond words.

I will be coaching and volunteering at the Northwest Ohio Regional Special Olympics State Qualifiers at Findlay High School. If you would like to volunteer, the event runs from 8:30 AM to about 3:30 PM.

Feel free to stop by and look for the orange canopy—Hancock County Special Olympics—or ask for Pastor Dave. We’ll have athletes from Wood County and surrounding communities, including the Luckey area, and we would love to see you there.

No experience is necessary—just bring a warm heart and a smiling face. You can help es**rt athletes, cheer them on, or simply be present in support.

Last week, members from Faith United Methodist Church had the honor of attending the “Welcome Home” event for Honor Flight—and what a powerful experience it was.

To stand among so many gathered to recognize and celebrate our veterans was truly moving. There was a deep sense of gratitude in the air—for the sacrifices made, the freedoms we enjoy, and the courage of those who served.

As each veteran returned, they were welcomed with cheers, applause, and heartfelt appreciation. It was a beautiful reminder that their service is not forgotten and that their stories still matter.

We are grateful to have been a small part of such a meaningful moment. Experiences like this call us to be people who honor, remember, and give thanks.

Welcome home—and thank you for your service.

Friends,

After talking with leadership and considering the latest weather forecast—which now shows nearly a 100% chance of snow and very cold temperatures—we’ve made the responsible decision to cancel Sunday’s service. The strongest snow is expected during church hours.

Rusty notified us that plowing property will be given to the glass factory, which operates 24 seven so the church Parking lot won’t be cleared in time for service.

I was also reminded that I am still recovering from a serious fall and concussion, and we want to avoid anyone else facing that kind of risk.

For everyone’s safety and well-being, closing for the day is the loving choice. Please stay safe and warm, and we look forward to worshiping together again soon.
