Jesus had been in the grave for 24 hrs. Things were looking pretty bleak. The stone had been rolled in place. Everyone was disheartened. They saw Jesus die. They saw Him go to the tomb.

Jesus had said in 3 days He would come back. No one could imagine how that was going to happen. Yet, things were starting to change.

Saturday might be a day of waiting but Sunday is coming.

Today everything changed. Jesus was betrayed. He was tried and found guilty of claiming to be God. Yet, through the entire process, Jesus stood quietly listening to the charges and never raised His voice or tried to escape the cross.

Jesus was beaten. He was scorned. He was spit on, had His beard pulled, and still took the punishment knowing He had to do it for us.

Jesus was crucified on Friday and put into the tomb before Passover got started. All was in chaos. No one could imagine what would happen next.

We had our Seder meal and program last night. If you ever get a chance to participate, it's a very moving service. Thanks to everyone that made food, decorated, set up, cleaned up and showed up.

Jesus gathered His disciples together and proceeded to have the Passover meal. Jesus sat down with His disciples knowing He was minutes away from a betrayal, going to be denied, and all these men were going to scatter like flies. Yet, He loved them knowing full well their mortal brains couldn't handle everything getting ready to happen. Knowing He would become the forever sacrificial lamb for the world

Jesus knew and He willingly did washed feet and served people that were going to hurt Him. Think about that today.

Today the plot thickens. The chief priests are starting to look for their opportunity to frame Jesus. They have to play their hand carefully or everything could blow up in their face.

Constantly looking for their chance, hatred is filling their heart. Jesus knows. He can feel the tension building. He knows His days are numbered and there's a target on His back.

Jesus was just celebrated on Sunday. Yesterday He turned the tables over. Today Jesus is teaching. The disciples are starting to think to themselves that something big is coming.

Jesus goes to the Mount of Olives and starts to tell his disciples parables. Not one of them understood what Jesus was saying.

Jesus had to be reeling. He knows that Judas is plotting, the boys don't understand the ramifications of what's going on, and each day brings Jesus one day closer to the end.

Jesus knows. Each day He's getting closer to the cross.

Yesterday, Jesus rode in on a donkey c**t to a big celebration. People threw their coats in the street. They waved palm branches crying Hosanna, Hosanna! They were so excited to see Jesus after He had risen Lazarus from the dead.

Today we have a different story. Jesus knew what was coming. He knew the celebration over Him would be short lived. Today Jesus went to the Temple and people were taking advantage of the poor. They were extorting money from people in the name of God to line their own pockets.

Jesus had enough. He became angry and started flipping over tables. Can you imagine the scene? People scattering. Animals running all over the place. Loose doves flying overhead as their cages had been opened.

Jesus was not a passive, non-confrontational man. Jesus was tired of the nonsense and totally cleaned house. He knew the hearts of the men there and determined enough is enough.
