Eve Study continued::

First Mother——

She had at least three children (maybe more)

Adam and Eve raised three children who are recorded in the Bible: Cain, Abel and Seth. However, the book of Genesis states, “The days of Adam after he became the father of Seth were eight hundred years; and he had other sons and daughters” (Genesis 5:4).

Eve’s death is not mentioned in the Bible, nor is Adam ever connected to any other women. Therefore, it is possible that Eve had other children, not mentioned by name in the Bible.

Continued study of Eve

Genesis 2
21 So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. 22 And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made[a] into a woman and brought her to the man. 23 Then the man said,
“This at last is bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called Woman,
because she was taken out of Man.”[b]
24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

1 Corinthians 11:9
9 Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.

Eve was the first woman on earth, first wife, and the first mother. She is known as the "Mother of All the Living." And even though these are remarkable accomplishments, little else is known about Eve. Moses’ account of the first couple is remarkably sparse, and we must assume God had a reason for that lack of detail. Like many noteworthy mothers, even though Eve's accomplishments were significant, for the most part, they were not mentioned.

In chapter two of the book of Genesis, God decided it would be good for Adam to have a companion and helper. Causing Adam to fall deeply asleep, God took one of his ribs and used it to form Eve. God called the woman ezer, which in Hebrew means "help." Adam named the woman Eve, meaning "life," referring to her role in the procreation of the human race.

So, Eve became Adam's companion, his helper, the one who would complete him and share equally in his responsibility for the creation. She, too, was made in God's image, displaying a portion of the characteristics of God. Together, Adam and Eve alone would fulfill God's purpose in the continuation of creation. With Eve, God brought human relationship, friendship, companionship, and marriage into the world.

It’s worth noting that God apparently created Adam and Eve as adults. In the Genesis account, both immediately possessed language skills that allowed them to communicate with God and each other. God made his rules and desires perfectly clear to them. He held them responsible.

Eve's only knowledge had come from God and Adam. At that point, she was pure in heart, created in the image of God. She and Adam were naked but not ashamed.

Eve had no knowledge of evil. She could not suspect the serpent’s motives. However, she did know she was required to obey God. Even though she and Adam had been put over all the animals, she chose to obey an animal rather than God.

We tend to be sympathetic toward Eve – inexperienced, naive – but God had been clear. Eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and you will die. What is often overlooked is that Adam was with her when she was being tempted. As her husband and protector, he was responsible for intervening. Continuing our study of Eve!!
Eve
Food for thought:

1. What do you think Eve looked like?

2. How long do you think Adam and Eve were in the garden?

3. Why do you think Adam did not intervene when she was tempted?

4. You think as a woman that we sometimes act before thinking!!! Do you agree that sometimes we act before we think of the true consequences?

5. So far how can you relate to Eve?

Alright Ladies::
The Woman of the Month is Eve

Who was she?

In the opening pages of the Bible, the author of Genesis presents the creation of the first humans.

Adam is created first from the “dust of the ground” and then God desires that Adam be given a “helper fit for him.”

She was the first woman and her actions deeply impacted the rest of Salvation History.

1. Her name is more of a verb than a noun
And Adam called the name of his wife Eve (=life, or life-giver).”
Through Eve life is born into the world, something that Adam was not able to do on his own.

Genesis 3:20
20 The man called his wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all living.[a]

1 Timothy 2:13
13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve;

Genesis 2:18-25
18 Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for[a] him.” 19 Now out of the ground the Lord God had formed[b] every beast of the field and every bird of the heavens and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. And whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name. 20 The man gave names to all livestock and to the birds of the heavens and to every beast of the field. But for Adam[c] there was not found a helper fit for him. 21 So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. 22 And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made[d] into a woman and brought her to the man. 23 Then the man said,
“This at last is bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called Woman,
because she was taken out of Man.”[e]
24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. 25 And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.

1 Corinthians 11:9
9 Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.

Eve's Bible Accomplishments
Eve is the mother of humankind. She was the first woman and first wife. While her accomplishments are remarkable, not much is revealed about her in Scripture. She arrived on the planet without mother and father. She was made by God as a reflection of his image to be a helper to Adam. They were to tend the Garden of Eden, the perfect place to live. Together they would fulfill God's purpose of populating the Earth.
