“In the eye of the storm, you remain in control”

Yesterday evening during one of the thunderstorms that came through, we had a large tree limb fall and do just a little damage to our new fellowship hall. Everything is fine, we’ve accessed the situation and determined the next steps that need to take place.

Everyone knows that a preacher can turn just about anything into a sermon so here it goes…

Someone may say “I knew that tree should’ve been cut down, but..”
Someone may say “I told them to cut those limbs, but..”

You see, the tree limb didn’t fall on its own.. it had outside sources that caused it to fall…

When the winds came, a tree that was FULL OF ACORNS (fruit), was damaged by another tree that was dead…. While we were focused on what we thought needed pruning back.. something that was full of life was damaged by something that looked fine but had no life at all.. even today, we remained focused on the downed limb and someone even said, it must’ve been rotten (dead) in the middle.. it wasn’t until someone noticed what actually was the culprit…
The tree that everyone wanted to judge.. the tree that everyone wanted to prune back.. the tree that was going to be a problem.. was damaged by a tree that looked fine but was dead on the inside.. no one looked at this other tree that was not in the way.. no one looked at the tree that “wasn’t hurting anything”..

Let us let this be a simple reminder to look at our lives completely and not avoid the things that “aren’t hurting anything” because it may be those very things that cost us eternity..

We want you to know that Jesus loves and cares for you, and so do we!

We’ve cleaned up and made the grounds ready for our services tomorrow! We can’t wait to worship with you!

🚨 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

Despite recent reports (and some very convincing pictures), Lucedale Full Gospel Church is NOT surrounded by flood waters, and there are currently NO sharks swimming in our parking lot. 🦈😄

The images were created just for fun and to get a few laughs—and judging by the messages and phone calls, they were a little TOO convincing!

Now that we’ve cleared that up, we’d love to invite you and your family to join us this Father’s Day as we celebrate the men who have influenced our lives and honor our Heavenly Father.

📖 Sunday School – 10:00 AM
⛪ Morning Worship – 11:00 AM

No evening service.

Whether you’re a dad, have a dad, miss your dad, or simply want to worship with a church family that loves Jesus, there’s a place for you here.

Come expecting heartfelt worship, encouraging fellowship, and a timely message from God’s Word.

Happy Father’s Day from all of us at Lucedale Full Gospel Church. We look forward to worshiping with you!

If the waters rise any higher, we may have to start a transportation ministry from bass boats. And if those sharks hanging around are looking for a meal, they’ll just have to sit through Sunday School first!

All joking aside, this picture reminds us of a powerful truth: storms will come, floods will rise, and life will sometimes feel overwhelming. But Jesus said that the wise man built his house upon the rock. When the rains descended and the floods came, that house stood firm because its foundation was secure.

Our prayer is that every person who walks through our doors will find that same firm foundation in Christ. Buildings may face storms, communities may face challenges, but God’s faithfulness remains unchanged.

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” — Romans 10:17

Whether the weather brings sunshine, snow, or sharks in the parking lot, we’re thankful to be serving a God who still calms the storms.

See you at church!

“Whether in calm waters or raging floods, God’s grace is still deeper.” 🌊✝️
