We would like to add a couple more K-4th and a couple more 5th-7th graders to complete our small classes so, please share! You really never know who is looking. Education choice can be stressful but it shouldn't be!

Totally my parenting AND teaching style.

Wanna wear a cape while we do our work and when we finish, run around the room?
Heck, yeah!

Need to take an extra break and go outside for ten minutes?
Heck, yeah!

Weather is nice and want to do schoolwork outside?
Heck, yeah!

They’re kids. That’s completely acceptable!

Small groups make this possible.

Oh, and……I get the blue cape!

Education is a service business.

Historically, traditional school has operated like an institution or utility.

You show up, you consume what is given, and the system moves at its own bureaucratic pace, dragging you along with it.

But, when you treat education as a relationship-driven service, the entire dynamic changes.

It places the focus entirely on value, responsiveness, and human connection.

That’s exactly why we started Anchor Point Academy.

We’re doing education differently and putting relationships first and treating families as partners!

Parents, educators, students, grandparents, family, and friends are all welcome to come connect and learn more about micro-schools and Anchor Point Academy!

For the month of June, we will hold online meetups/informationals on THURSDAY nights from 6-7.

Laid back, casual, questions and answers about the program and time to meet other parents. Just a time to connect! Small groups and no pressure!

In a traditional school setting, most students don’t meet their teacher until the first day or week before school. Yikes!

We see no reason to put students who have never met each other in a room together all of a sudden. It’s awkward, even for the teacher!

For the month of June, we will hold 2-3 online meetups/informationals. Laid back, casual, questions and answers about the program and time to meet other parents.

In July, we will move to once a week in person meetups. Park, Milestones, splash pad, pool, coffee shop (6-8th), our new place!, etc.

Nothing mandatory at all! Just a time to connect!

You can not automate a relationship and relationship building is where the service starts!

How do we complete a school day in less time than a traditional school setting takes? Easy. We keep classes small!

What does this mean? Your child receives, overall, more focused, attentive, one-on-one instruction.

When we focus on something intently, it produces intense results.

We believe our children deserve intense results.

The five most common accommodations listed on a students 504/IEP are:

1. Extended Time….*cough*….micro-school.
2. Small Group Settings….hellooo!…micro-school!
3. Frequent Breaks….okkkk…micro-school.
4. Preferential Seating…..yeppp…..micro-school
5. Simplified Instructions……you know….micro-school.

These “accommodations” are met naturally in a micro-school!

Also, why are these not general standards and just special education? Thoughts?
