We are so grateful to God for the faithful men and women who came before us and helped build the foundation of Oakwood Baptist Church. Their prayers, sacrifice, and love for the Lord have impacted so many lives through the years.

Save the date for August 30th as we celebrate 65 years of God’s faithfulness. We would love to see former members and everyone who has been part of this amazing ministry over the years.

Invite your friends and family and come celebrate all that God has done and continues to do. We are looking forward to a special day together. ✨

This Memorial Day, we pause and we pray. We are so grateful for the men and women who gave everything so that we could live freely in this beautiful country. Their sacrifice was real. Today we lift up their families, the ones who also gave so much, and we ask God to surround them with peace and comfort that only He can give.

Freedom is not free, and we do not take it for granted. John 15:13 says, “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” We see that love in every soldier who never came home. Thank you for your sacrifice. We remember you today and always.

This Sunday we are taking a moment to do something really special. We are honoring the memory of our veterans who have passed in celebration of Memorial Day, and we want to make sure your family members are included.

If you have a relative you would like us to recognize, bring a photo of them along with their name, military branch, and title or rank. Whether they served decades ago or more recently, their ultimate sacrifice deserves to be remembered and celebrated with the family of God surrounding you.

There is something powerful about pausing together as a church to say thank you, not just for freedom, but for the people behind it. The ones who wore the uniform, who left home, who gave everything. And we are thankful for you, their family, and your sacrifice.

Proverbs 10:7 says, “The memory of the righteous is a blessing.” Let us be that blessing to one another this Sunday. We hope to see you. Come ready to remember, honor, and worship together. 🙏
