What does it look like to be faithful while trusting God with what we cannot control?

In Mark 4:26–29, Jesus compares the kingdom of God to a farmer scattering seed. The farmer has real work to do, but he cannot make the seed grow. In the same way, God calls us to faithful obedience while reminding us that lasting growth in our lives, in others, and in His kingdom can only come from Him.

This morning, we’ll consider where God is calling us to scatter the seed of the gospel and where we need to release control and wait expectantly for Him to give the growth.

This full-time role will serve our church by leading people in Christ-centered worship and developing the next generation of worship leaders through Redeemer Music. The Worship Associate will provide primary worship leadership for Redeemer College Ministry and support worship throughout the broader life of our church.

We’re looking for a gifted vocalist and musician who leads with authenticity, humility, and theological depth; loves developing people; and desires to build spiritually healthy teams marked by servant leadership and musical excellence.

Have you ever wondered if God is really at work?

Maybe you’re praying for someone you love, walking through suffering, or looking at the brokenness around you and struggling to see what God is doing.

In Matthew 13:31–33, Jesus compares the kingdom of heaven to a mustard seed and leaven, two images that remind us that God often begins His work in ways that seem small or hidden. But what He begins, He faithfully grows!

Even when we cannot see it yet, God is at work, forming disciples, building His church, and spreading the hope of the gospel throughout Lubbock and the nations.

God’s Word never fails to bear fruit.

This morning, we’re continuing our Parables of Jesus series with the parable of the sower in Matthew 13. Jesus invites us to consider how we receive His Word: are our hearts hardened and distracted, or are we open to hearing His Word and allowing it to take root and change us?

Our prayer this morning is simple, that God would give us soft hearts. May His Word shape our minds, values, and affections and bear fruit far beyond what we could imagine!

Pack your bags, Mission of God Kids is traveling around the world! ✈️

While their parents take the Mission of God class, kids get to “visit” a new place each week and discover that God’s global mission includes them, too. Through reading Scripture, prayer, hands-on activities, and hearing stories from around the world, they learn about God’s heart for people from every nation, tribe, people, and language.

These weekly “trips” give kids the opportunity to experience different cultures while learning about and praying for people around the world who do not yet know Jesus.

Our hope is that Mission of God Kids helps children see that Jesus is worth everything—and that even now, they can share the gospel with their friends, pray for people around the world, and learn what it looks like to be part of what God is doing among the nations.

“This is why I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.” — Matthew 13:13 ESV

Jesus’ parables are more than memorable stories. They reveal the truth of God’s kingdom and invite us to listen closely, not only to understand with our minds, but to allow His words to reach our hearts and change how we live.

Matthew 13 reminds us that none of us sees spiritual truth clearly on our own. We need God to open our eyes and help us understand, and when He does, He calls us to turn from sin and put our faith in Jesus.

Throughout this semester, we’ll study the parables and ask God to give us eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts ready to respond. Whether you have followed Jesus for years or are simply exploring what you believe, you are welcome here!
