The next On the Road Lunch Church is actually in town as we will be on the campus of Lubbock Christian University at the Baker Conference Center at 5642 Eileen Blvd. Wednesday September 30th at 11:45am.

The Heights Fellowship Pastor Mike Martindale and I will both speak hoping to bless the amazing LCU students, staff and public in attendance.

A big thanks to LCU President Scott McDowell for inviting us on campus to share the Goodness of God and his word.

Chef Randy is preparing a Chicken Fried Steak Buffet for $15.

ALL STUDENTS WILL EAT FREE THANKS TO TREMENDOUS DONORS.

Two weeks from today

My next monthly Lunch Church will be 11:45am September 16th at the Lubbock Professional Firefighters Association Hall at 8517 Urbana.

Longtime Womens/Girls Basketball Coach Sam Nichols will speak.

In 33 years of coaching Nichols won 637 games, including stops in our area at Loop, Dimmitt and Slaton where he won a State Championship with the Tigerettes in 1979-1980.

He is the winningest Women’s Basketball coach in the history of McMurry University, where he was Head Coach for 12 years.

In February 2026, the basketball court in the new McMurry Student Activities Center was named the “Sam Nichols Court,” and in the pinnacle of professional achievement at the university, he was inducted into the “Athletic Legends Corner,” one of only six coaches to receive the accolade in the university’s history.

In 2017, Sam was inducted into the prestigious McMurry University Athletic Hall of Honor.

Sam is founder and president of Basketball Smiles, an international non-profit organization that provides free basketball camps in the poorest inner-city neighborhoods of The Bahamas. Basketball Smiles is the largest free basketball camp in the Caribbean, serving more than 13,000 children since 1999.

My next monthly Lunch Church will be 11:45am August 26 at the Lubbock Professional Firefighters Association Hall at 8517 Urbana.

Lubbock Christian High School President Hutch Haley will speak.

With school starting a new year, Haley will bless the crowd with God's word.

A former Coach, Teacher and Parent of students, Haley has insight on how any parent is feeling right now.

In his first stint at Lubbock Christian, Haley coached 17 years winning TAPPS State Football and Girls Basketball Championships.

Wow! Today's On the Road Lunch Church was the largest of the 151 events we have done over almost 9 years.

The Brownfield Teacher/Staff Convocation with 330 people with food provided by Robert Dillard of Parsons Roofing.

I was honored to lift up, thank, motivate, inspire and then pray over an amazing group, who pour and invest into young men and women.

Thank you Superintendent Chris Smith for having me out!

Afterwards I handed out over 220 prayer cloths!

Tomorrow I'll be out at Southcrest Christian to speak to their teachers and staff ending one of my favorite weeks every year.

What a blessing to lift up our teachers!

New Home State Champion Baseball Coach Brady Webb will be speaking.

In June, the Leopards made their 6th trip to State since 2018 and they won their first State Title.

What a blessing.
