The Lubbock Concert Bells are bringing the fun to Second Baptist Church!

Join us on Tuesday, June 9 at 7:00p for Bells Just Wanna Have Fun, An Interactive Handbell Concert featuring music you know and love from John Denver, Captain & Tennille, Queen, Jimmy Buffett, ABBA, Buddy Holly, and more.

This summer, we’re making space for something simple but important: time together.

2B Summer Nights is a series of family-friendly events designed to help us connect, build relationships, and make some great memories along the way.

Our first event is a crowd favorite:

Main Event Lubbock
Tuesday, June 23 at 5:30p

For just $10 per person (maximum $30 per family), your registration includes:

• 4 hours of bowling, laser tag, and billiards
• An arcade card with 2 hours of game time
• 2 slices of pizza
• A refillable soft drink

This is a family event, so parents are asked to attend with their children. That just means everyone gets to join in the fun.

Registration closes June 19, so don’t wait.

What a sacred and joyful Sunday at Second Baptist Church as we celebrated Rev. Charlie Johnson being named Pastor Emeritus.

For so many at 2b, Charlie’s ministry has shaped the life of this church in lasting ways through faithful leadership, compassionate presence, thoughtful preaching, and deep love for this congregation and community. This weekend was a beautiful reminder that ministry leaves fingerprints on people’s lives long after sermons end.

We are grateful to Rev. Carrie Veal for leading this meaningful service, to Tim Lyles and our music ministry for helping create such a powerful morning of worship, and to all who gathered to honor Charlie and Jana.

Thank you, Charlie and Jana, for the ways you have loved, served, and walked alongside this church through the years. We celebrate this well-deserved honor with deep gratitude.

We’re looking for a few extra volunteers tomorrow morning for our South Plains Food Bank distribution at Second B.

Each week, this ministry helps care for neighbors in our community through food, hospitality, and simple acts of kindness. If you are available Tuesday morning and would like to help welcome guests, pack food, or serve alongside others, we would love to have you.

Volunteer support takes place from 9:00a–12:00p.
