Quaker Avenue Church of Christ

Quaker Avenue Church of Christ A Christ-centered community loving one another, serving others, desiring the unity of all believers, content to be Christians only not the only Christians.

Christ said, “I have come that you may have life and have it more abundantly.” As individuals and as a community of Christians at Quaker Avenue, we seek to live the abundant life that Christ promised his disciples. We are committed to lives of moral purity, spiritual growth and loving service. We are committed to doing our part to fulfill our Lord’s great commission to preach the gospel to all peo

ple in all nations. We believe each member is called to be a spiritually gifted minister of Christ. We believe that parents are called to provide for the spiritual development of their children. We believe the elders and teachers of the congregation are called to equip us to live our lives in Christ-like service and devotion. At Quaker, we desire the unity of all believers in Christ. In that spirit we strive to be “Christians only not the only Christians.” Our congregational motto is “In faith unity, In opinion liberty, in all things love.

Big Questions – Great Truths
Wednesday Evening Series Beginning February 4th

What does the Gospel say to our culture?
How do the truths of the Gospel speak into the signs of our times?

In the first century, the apostle Paul recognized that the Gospel appeared to the world as foolishness and weakness. Yet to those who are being saved, it is the very power and wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:18–31). Every generation since has found reasons to dismiss, mock, or reject the Gospel. Again and again, it has seemed outdated, implausible, and incapable of answering the big questions of the age.

And yet the Gospel not only endures — it continues to be the most radically transformative message in human history.

So what about today? What are the deep questions our age is asking about meaning, identity, freedom, truth, and hope? And how does the Gospel speak into those questions?

Beginning Wednesday, Feb 4 at 6:30, we will consider the pressing concerns of our cultural moment and listen carefully to the great truths of the Gospel — trusting that the same message once dismissed as foolishness still reveals the wisdom and power of God.
