Juneteenth marks the end of slavery in the United States: a day of freedom long delayed, and a reminder of the generations who endured unimaginable injustice.

It is a time to remember, honor, and reflect on the lives, stories, and courage of those who fought for liberation.

But Juneteenth also calls us to look honestly at the present, because while slavery was legally abolished, exploitation and modern slavery still exist today, affecting vulnerable individuals and communities across our nation.

The Salvation Army continues that fight today through our anti‑human trafficking programs, walking alongside survivors with love, safety, dignity, compassion, and hope.

We believe honoring the past means choosing how we live today, supporting one another, extending grace, treating every person with respect, and serving in ways that protect freedom and uphold humanity.

We are asking our community for help!

Our shelter is currently at capacity, and with so many residents needing access to clean clothing, we are in need of additional washers and dryers. Used washers and dryers in good working condition are welcome and greatly appreciated.

Something as simple as a load of clean clothes can help restore dignity, confidence, and hope to those working to rebuild their lives.

If you have a washer or dryer you would be willing to donate, please contact us. Your generosity will directly impact the men, women, and families we serve every day.

Today we hit the streets to check on our neighbors and share a little hope!

Our team delivered food boxes, linens, and bottled water to residents at Kingdom Towers and Kings Dominion, ensuring that those in our community know they are seen, cared for, and supported.

We are grateful for every opportunity to serve and make a difference in the lives of others. This outreach is just one way we continue to bring hope across the South Plains.

We'll be back out again next week delivering more food boxes, linens, and essentials throughout the South Plains area. Together, we can continue Doing the Most Good!

Today we sent off 9 amazing kids to Salvation Army Camp Hoblitzelle in Midlothian, Texas!

Before they departed, we gathered around them in prayer, asking God to watch over each one, bless them abundantly, and fill their hearts with His love, joy, and peace throughout the week.

We are so excited for the memories they'll make, the friendships they'll build, and the ways they'll grow in their faith. We can't wait to hear all about their adventures when they return!

Please join us in praying for a safe, fun, and life-changing week for these wonderful young people. May they come home refreshed, encouraged, and overflowing with the Lord's blessings!
