Church at the Park this morning was a wonderful time of worship, fellowship, and fun!

We gathered for an open-air worship service led by Major Russell Clay, with uplifting worship music filling the park and welcoming everyone to join us. It was a beautiful morning spent praising God, enjoying great food, playing games, and connecting with one another.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made today so special!

We’d love to have you worship with us again soon. Join us every Sunday at The Salvation Army Church:
📖 Sunday School – 9:30 AM
⛪ Holiness Meeting – 10:30 AM

We all need people who lift us up. Church is where we learn to do that together.

It's a place to grow, be known, and lift one another up through every season.

At The Salvation Army, we’d love to welcome you this Sunday. Come as you are to our worship centers, and leave encouraged.

There’s a place for you here.

🍩 Happy National Donut Day! 🍩

Today, thanks to the generosity of our wonderful friends at H-E-B Bakery, The Salvation Army had the privilege of hand-delivering 20 dozen donuts throughout our community!

We visited local media stations, police departments, and fire stations to say a simple but heartfelt THANK YOU for all you do each and every day to serve and protect our community.

We are grateful for the dedication, sacrifice, and hard work of these community heroes, and we're thankful to HEB for helping us share a little sweetness and appreciation along the way.

Happy National Donut Day!

🍩 The Salvation Army Lassies stepped onto the front lines of WWI with one mission: bring comfort where it was most needed.

A warm doughnut became a reminder that someone cared, and that one act of love has rippled through generations.

Today, hundreds of families across The Salvation Army find comfort, support, and hope through our programs.

🍩 National Donut Day celebrates kindness that still changes lives.

“Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
1 Corinthians 13:7

At The Salvation Army, we live that out every day, serving families in crisis, walking with people in recovery, feeding neighbors who are hungry, and offering hope to anyone who needs a place to rest and rebuild.

Because love isn’t just something we feel, it’s something we do…together.

National Donut Day is this Friday, June 5!
More than a century ago, the “Donut Lassies” entered WWI huts with hands full of flour, sugar, and the honest intention to lift the spirits of the soldiers who were far from home. Against all odds, that small act of kindness made a lasting difference.

On June 7, 1938, The Salvation Army first celebrated National Doughnut Day as a fundraiser during the Great Depression to support families facing hardship. It was a wonderful act that mirrored and honored the legacy of those courageous women.

Today, at The Salvation Army, we carry this purpose forward each day, meeting local needs with love and compassion through our food pantries 🍽️, food parcel services 📦, and mobile food pantries 🚚.

A simple recipe in action.
A lasting impact.

Because from the very beginning, the first ingredient was love.

As we close out Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, The Salvation Army Texas would like to take this moment to thank all of our AAPI neighbors and community members who dedicate their time to serving our mission.

This includes our staff, volunteers, donors, and church members across Texas.

We are endlessly grateful for all of your meaningful service, and we can’t wait to see what we all do together in the year to come. ❤️

Did you know that The Salvation Army’s summer camps have been around almost as long as The Salvation Army itself?

The first official summer camp was the “Fresh Air Camp” in Kansas City, and the oldest existing camp was established in 1901 in Camp Lake, Wisconsin.

The rest has been history, serving children across the nation and providing them a summer full of fresh air, sunshine, friendship, ministry, and character-building activities. ☀️
