🔥 SUNDAY SERMON RECAP 🔥

What a powerful message from Pastor Ed today as we continued our Altar Series!

📖 1 Kings 17:1 — Elijah declared that there would be no dew or rain because of the idolatry of King Ahab.

As we continue studying altars in the Bible and in our own lives, we have to take a look at the sacrifice that is involved in an altar. An altar always represents something being given, surrendered, and placed before God.

And the takeaway from today’s message?
Let’s look at cultural confrontation from today’s world. 🌎

We are called to recognize the things our culture asks us to worship, surrender, and sacrifice for—and choose instead to keep our altar centered on God. 🙏

What are we laying down at the altar? What are we willing to sacrifice to follow Him?

✨ SUNDAY SERMON RECAP ✨

What a powerful word from Pastor Ed today! 🙌

Today’s message, “NOW FAITH IS… A Time of Altars & Sacrifice — Part 8" reminded us that the altar is where things change and where lives are altered. Our happiness has a shelf life, but what God does in our lives at the altar has lasting impact. ❤️‍🔥

We looked at Zerubbabel and the rebuilding of the temple, and how he first rebuilt the altar before the temple itself. We were reminded that worship, sacrifice, and putting God first have to come before everything else.

We also looked at Peter and the birth of the Church at Pentecost—people received the Word, were baptized, devoted themselves to teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, and prayer. They cared for one another, met each other’s needs, and lived with a common purpose. ⛪️

And through Zechariah’s prophecy to Zerubbabel, we were encouraged to keep going and remember that God is the One who empowers us. 🙏

📖 “But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort.” — 1 Corinthians 14:3

What are you willing to lay on the altar?

Because the altar is where things change.

The altar is where lives are altered. ❤️‍🔥

WE NEED YOUR VOTE! We rebooted our Committed Couples ministry last night and these couples went on a pic scavenger hunt. They were all instructed to take a pic at Generations LBK, a Lubbock landmark, a special place to them and a park and write a blurb on each pic. One couple will get a date night at Hub City Silos! This was too hard to decide so we need you to vote. They are all our favorites and all could use a night out. WE LOVE MARRIAGE BUILDING AT GENERATIONS CHURCH! If you are not working on your marriage you are working on your divorce!
