THE WARRIOR DIET
James 1:2-3 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
A man named Ori Hofmekler once said:
Not actively surviving is passively dying.
Ori is a former Israeli Special Forces soldier who earned a degree in Human Sciences from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. His experience as a young man with the Israeli Special Forces prompted a life interest in diet and fitness regimes that help improve human survival. Ori had ONE MISSION - guide ANY human being how to take advantage of the body's inherent genetic programs to becoming stronger, faster and tougher - to reach maximum genetic potential in strength, conditioning, and toughness. Through all of his extensive and endless hours of studying, testing and analyzing the human body; Ori ultimately came up with this revolutionary diet and workout plan that not only helps a person lose weight, but also induces massive muscle growth at the same time. But what’s crazy is that it completely goes against almost every other diet/workout plan. Normal diets say that #1. You should never skip breakfast #2. You should be sure to eat small/medium meals every 3 hours to keep your metabolism up #3. Never eat huge meals at night and #4. Always eat immediately after exercise.
Well, Ori’s diet just about broke every one of these rules. He says you should skip breakfast, workout like a beast, maybe have a handful of berries or a yogurt for lunch, and then you should pig out for dinner…. This is almost like diet/workout heresy. Ori concluded that humans are programmed especially to thrive under stress, not the other way. He also found that with these short-term fasts, you trigger stress response agents that practically search and destroy every weak element in your body.
After reading this article I was blown away.. Not so much by the diet, but what really got to me was when Ori said that the human body is “genetically programmed” to GROW and thrive under stress, not be in continuous comfort. This got to me because I began to think about the One who programmed the human body and He began to give me a deeper revelation of what it means to be outside of our comfort zone. There are times when life gets really tough and we have to go through things that literally hurt and we feel so bent out of shape that we feel like we’re gonna break and we ask God why? Why are You allowing me to go through this?? Instead of thinking “where can I grow or what can I learn from this?” Do you know why God allows you to go through those things? I tell you why. It’s because He loves you so much, He wants you to grow strong, not lacking any wisdom or better yet to have an impeccable character. God wants, yearns so bad for you to succeed and the only way that’s going to happen is if you’re willing to trust God through the tough times. He created you and programmed you to succeed under pressure! You won’t break.
Right now in my life I’m starting a new career and sometimes I wonder if I’m going be able to do it. Every time I had to take a class or certification course my first thought was, “dang, hopefully I can pass this”. I have to remind myself that I was built to grow! I was built to succeed. Not because of me, but because of Him who built me. There’s something in your life that you’re supposed to do that’s greater than you that you feel is out of your strength, but right now God is building you and strengthening to be greater, greater than you can ever imagine because you were meant to not only thrive under pressure, but to grow as well. This even gave me a refreshed view of how I workout. Now I love it when I’m sore because the soreness means I’m going be bigger and stronger than I was yesterday. So let this revolutionize how you look at your life’s struggles. Next time something comes around that ruffles your feathers remind yourself that you were genetically programmed by the most High God to trample and overcome whatever life throws at you.
