Another amazing and enriching day at Dharmic Camp!
We began the morning with peaceful meditation and energizing Surya Namaskar, setting a positive tone for the day ahead. Campers continued learning through Lingabhishekam, gaining a deeper understanding of its spiritual significance, while also incorporating Hindi words and phrases throughout the day to strengthen their connection to language and culture.
One of the highlights was a guided walk around the mandir grounds, where campers identified various leaves used in puja and learned about their sacred significance in Hindu worship. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature while exploring the traditions that have been passed down through generations.
And while we weren’t exactly making a fashion statement, we certainly loved sporting our Dharmic Camp shirts, generously provided by Pandit Vishnu & Family! Seeing everyone proudly wearing them brought a wonderful sense of unity and camp spirit.
A heartfelt thank you to Aunty Tina for the delicious macaroni pie and to Aunty Urmela for the mouthwatering pasta primavera, with a side of an aloo pie outta Nani Leila’s kitchen! The refreshing watermelon generously provided by Aunty Patricia Parag was the perfect treat, and we are grateful to Aunty Prea Naraine for the snacks, juice, and salad that kept everyone energized throughout the day.
The afternoon came alive with music and culture as Vik led lively singing sessions, while our very own Khaveer captivated everyone with an engaging Tassa demonstration, sharing the rhythms, energy, and traditions of this beloved art form.
From learning and exploring to singing, sharing, and enjoying delicious meals together, it was a full day immersed in the many facets of our rich Dharmic heritage. We are grateful for another day of learning, laughter, friendship, and cultural discovery. Looking forward to what tomorrow brings! 🙏🕉️☀️
