When life becomes chaotic, heavy, and difficult to manage, returning to God is not about fixing yourself first or presenting a polished version of who you are. It is about surrender. It is about bringing your broken pieces, your confusion, your failures, and your weakness to the only One who has the power to restore what you cannot. The Christian walk has never been built on human perfection; it stands on divine mercy.
Coming back to God after drifting away is not a journey marked by condemnation, but by grace. In the Parable of the Prodigal Son, Jesus reveals the heart of the Father. The son returns ashamed and unworthy, yet the father runs to meet him, embraces him, and celebrates his return. This is the character of God. He does not wait with accusation; He waits with compassion.
Shame is often the greatest barrier. But Scripture gives us a clear promise in 1 John 1:9: โIf we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.โ To doubt His forgiveness is to underestimate the sufficiency of Christโs sacrifice. The cross was enough.
Your return does not glorify your effort; it glorifies His faithfulness. As Jeremiah 3:14 declares, the Lord calls back those who have turned away. He remains steadfast even when we are not. Take the first step home today. Grace is already waiting. ๐
