Thursday, our 𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐞𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐨𝐝 group is 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝟒:𝟑𝟎 𝐏𝐌 to head over to the Crow Creek powwow grounds! We are meeting up with some local Hunkpati friends to worship alongside the husband-and-wife duo Alex & Brandi of 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐑𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐬. 🙌🏽 Their music beautifully blends traditional Indigenous sounds with contemporary worship that honors Christ. A familiar lie has circulated among too many of our people for far too long. People say that Jesus is the "white man’s God" and Christianity belongs to European culture. That falsehood is designed to keep us from what God has always intended for us.

It is true that some stole the Way of Christ. They misused His name to justify slavery and theft. But they do not own Jesus. THEY DO NOT GET TO DEFINE HIM.

In Luke 12:49, Jesus said, "𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙚 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙝..."

This isn't a cozy campfire. This is a disruptive, purifying wildfire.

Jesus came from a tribal people, the tribe of Judah. He knew that when we reclaim this Holy Spirit fire, it creates tension between old ways and new life. He warned that truth brings division, even among kinfolk, because the gospel exposes distortions and burns away cultural lies.

The original fire of God didn't start in European cathedrals. It started in the desert wilderness. That was a rugged, windswept country of dirt, rocks, and wide-open skies that looked a lot like the bluffs right here in Lower Brule.

From the very beginning, the eternal fire of the Most High God was meant to dwell inside people from 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞, 𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (Revelation 7:9).

Today, we honor the 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐬 who reflected the selfless example of Christ by giving their lives for our freedom. 🦅

There is a heavy, heartbreaking 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐝 for the liberties we enjoy. 💔

We stand in prayer for the grieving families left behind, asking the Holy Spirit to bring His deepest comfort to their broken hearts this Memorial Day. 🙏🏽

For generations, a heavy cloud hung over the land. The Creator's presence felt distant, while the people carried the weight of separation, trauma, and broken cycles.

But Pentecost changed everything. Heaven roared into the earth. The holy breath of Creator God moved inside us permanently. His fire didn't just land on a few chosen leaders—it rested on regular people. On each of us.

If you belong to Jesus, the great division is healed. You are no longer a slave to old cycles or generational pain. You are a son or daughter of the Most High, walking with real spiritual authority.

You don’t have to fight daily battles with your own weak willpower anymore. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives right in you.

Lower Brule, you carry the fire that knows your name. Above all else, guard your heart and protect that fire. 🔥 ❤️ 🦅 🙌🏽
