Today in Iraq was an epic day in Erbil. And heroes won the day. For four hours police hurried hundreds of families into one of our IM ministry centers, ten at a time to keep the risk at a minimum. Our courageous Indigenous Ministries team stayed the course working tirelessly to make sure the families in our program received their food baskets.
Meanwhile, overhead five drones made screamed by during this time one by one, and a few miles away, one hit its mark - a factory. Soon plumes of smoke rose into the sky.
As our bus driver rounded the corner on one of his runs bringing families to the center, a drone flew overhead and exploded as it was intercepted not far away.
Not once did anyone on our team say I can’t stay…it’s too dangerous. But there were tears and hugs as the parents and children shared how hard this has been. How afraid they are. Our team encouraged them and prayed with them.
These men and women are true heroes, and I am so very proud of every one of our Iraq Indigenous Ministries team!!
Thank you for your continued prayers and support - so many of you share with me how much you care and that you’re praying - pls don’t stop.
Pray that the Iranian-backed Iraqi militias will stop launching drones and rockets that are hitting homes, factories, schools and our US troops. Iraqis killing Iraqis and Kurds - how sad. Pray for others in this great country who choose to stay and help at great personal sacrifice. I’m so very proud of them.
Pray for those in the Kurdish government as they try and protect the people. Good men and women whom I know personally.
It’s our time to show them we care.
