JESUS aCROSS the Border

JESUS aCROSS the Border Founded in 2016, JESUS aCROSS the Border has created a unique platform that promotes and shares information about local Catholic Young Adult groups.

JESUS aCROSS the Border is umbrella group that provides information about all young adult ministries. It utilizes this website and various means of social media (Facebook , Twitter, etc.). The “Google Calendar” is regularly updated. The leader of each organization is able to access the calendar in order to enter weekly/monthly meetings and upcoming event for each group. This master calendar allows

individuals to select which cities and areas of which to see the events, and also allows individuals to find programs that best fit ever changing work schedules. This website provides a current listing of every local Catholic young adult group. It provides each group’s website, page, and contact information. It is organized by the State and further broken down into smaller groups by town or category of group. Providing a list of groups allows groups to better collaborate and share ideas.

It is with deeply heavy hearts that we share the passing of one of the most influential, faith-filled voices and supporters of JESUS aCROSS the Border. On Monday, August 3, 2026, Br. Rene Roy unexpectedly returned home to our Lord. The depth of love, faith, support, and sincerity of Br. Rene truly helped shape our ministry, as he magnificently exemplified the love of Christ. Br. Rene would travel far and wide to prayerfully support and attend most of our monthly events, as one could scan the church filled with Catholic young adults, late into the evening on a Friday night, and see Br. Rene, completely present in body, mind, and soul, providing a grounding sense of comfort and peace.

Br. Rene gave so much of his time, treasure, and talent to JESUS aCROSS the Border, as he was the cornerstone presenter at one of our staff retreats, sharing his journey of faith and how deeply proud he was of all that we were doing. He gifted the ministry priestly vestments, handmade, that he brought home from his time in Rwanda.

Br. Rene provided a deep joy and peace in Christ that was foreign to many of us young adults, as we struggled to find our way through our young adult lives. He believed in us and saw goodness in us when we often did not see goodness in ourselves. We will be forever grateful to Br. Rene and are beyond excited for him to finally meet Christ, face-to-face, which is what he lived his entire life preparing for. Thank Br. Rene, for your friendship. Thank you for your faith. Thank you for your belief in our goodness. We love you!
