Some of our young adults attended a wonderful program called Crossroad 2.0 this past week in Florida. This program aims to bring together adults aged 21-35 to deepen their Orthodox faith and inspire them to get more involved in the church. Our young adults came back with lots of excitement and new ideas to bring to our parish. If you see them around, make sure to ask them about their experience!

Last Saturday our parish hosted a wonderful outreach event, partnering with Rise Against Hunger where we made and packed over 10,000 meals for those in need! With over 80 volunteers of all ages, we had a great example of what can be accomplished when we all come together.

Over the course of Great Lent, we will be posting media and literary resources for the whole family! Lent is a time to grow closer to Christ, and in a time where most of us fall victim to scrolling on our phones, let’s try to swap at least ONE bit of media for one that brings us closer to our faith. Be on the lookout for video, book, app, and other recommendations to come! Blessed Lent!

Today we are sharing a great book and resource- “How to Be a Sinner” by Peter Bouteneff

Book description: We call ourselves sinners in much of our church life. Yet the sinner identity when done right brings peace of mind, a clear conscience, and love for others. Addressing topics like guilt, shame, and self-care, this compassionate guide will help you reflect on your life in surrender to God s mercy. Written by an internationally recognized professor of Orthodox theology, this book will speak to you wherever you find yourself.

Digital Discernment is a bright spots podcast from the Crossroad Institute that tries to tackle the difficult topic of digital use in our Orthodox lives. We especially recommend parents to listen to this podcast, though all of us can get something out of these great interviews!
