John 17:1-26

20. "I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word,

What I've realized is that I'm not walking in my own strength, I'm walking in a prayer Jesus already prayed!

There's nothing I can do and say that God won't move on my behalf. What I must understand is that before I prayed my first prayer, I was standing in the prayer of the groom who prayed for me.

The reason I have life and well-being, is because I'm standing in the prayer Jesus prayed for me in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Spiritual Gifts
June 25, 2025
Anthony Mendes

Spiritual gifts are divine blessings entrusted upon believers by the Holy Spirit for the purpose of raising up the body of Christ and spreading His love and truth to the world. Each believer is uniquely gifted in different ways, and these gifts are meant to be utilized for the common good and to bring glory to God.

The importance of spiritual gifts lies in their ability to strengthen and nurture the faith community. When individuals operate in their spiritual gifts, they contribute to the overall growth and unity of the church. These gifts empower us to serve one another, share the gospel effectively, and fulfill our God-given purposes.

"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms." - 1 Peter 4:10

Throughout the Bible, we see various characters who were gifted by God with unique abilities to serve His purposes. For example, Moses was given the gift of leadership to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. King Solomon was blessed with wisdom to rule his kingdom. And the Apostle Paul had the gift of teaching and preaching to spread the gospel to the nations.

Just as Moses, Solomon, and Paul were given spiritual gifts to fulfill their calling, we too are entrusted with gifts from the Holy Spirit to build up the body and kingdom as well as serve others. Let us seek to discover and utilize our spiritual gifts for the glory of God and the advancement of His kingdom.

Being blessed with spiritual gifts is a privilege and a responsibility. It is a reminder of God's grace and love towards us, as well as His trust in us to use these gifts for His kingdom. We are called to employ our gifts wisely, using them with humility, love, and excellence. By doing so, we not only strengthen the body of Christ but also bring honor to God's name.

Let us recognize the significance of the spiritual gifts we have been given and commit to using them faithfully for the glory of God and the advancement of His kingdom. May we seek to discern and develop our gifts, walking in obedience to the Holy Spirit's leading, and bearing fruit that will last for eternity.

Life is full of challenges and obstacles that can seem insurmountable at times. Just like Moses, who faced countless trials and tribulations as he led the Israelites out of Egypt, we too will encounter difficulties in our own lives. But just as Moses remained steadfast in his faith and commitment to God, we are called to do the same.

Moses faced challenges from the very beginning of his mission. Pharaoh refused to let the Israelites go, and even after they were finally freed, they faced hunger, thirst, and constant complaining from the people he was leading. Despite all of these obstacles, Moses stayed true to his calling and continued to trust in God's plan for his life.

In the same way, we may encounter setbacks and struggles in our own lives. It may feel like we are facing impossible odds, and that there is no way out of our current situation. But just like Moses, we must remember that God is in control, and that he has a plan for each and every one of us.

Even when it seemed like the challenges were too great, Moses never gave up. He continued to serve God faithfully, even when it seemed like the odds were stacked against him. And in the end, he was able to lead the Israelites to the promised land.

In the modern world, we too may feel overwhelmed by the challenges that we face. Whether it be financial troubles, relationship struggles, or health issues, it can be easy to feel like giving up. But just like Moses, we must remember that we are called to persevere and trust in God's plan for our lives.

No matter what challenges we may face, we can take comfort in the fact that God is always by our side. Just as he was with Moses every step of the way, he will be with us as well. So let us continue to serve our purpose, no matter how difficult the road may seem, knowing that God is with us every step of the way.

1. Exodus 3:10-12 - "Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt. But Moses said to God, 'Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?' He said, 'But I will be with you, and this shall be the sign for you, that I have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.'"

2. Exodus 14:10-14 - "As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the Lord. They said to Moses, 'Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? Didn’t we say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians’? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!' Moses answered the people, 'Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.'"

3. Deuteronomy 31:6 - "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."

4. Hebrews 11:27 - "By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible."

These scriptures show the challenges that Moses faced, his doubts and fears, as well as God's faithfulness and provision throughout his journey. Just as Moses trusted in God and persevered through his challenges, we too can find strength and courage in knowing that God is with us every step of the way.

✨ Feeling burnt out? Overwhelmed? You're not alone! 🙌

Let's be real, adulting is HARD. Juggling work, relationships, and everything in between can leave you feeling totally drained. But what if I told you there's a secret weapon for finding true, lasting rest? It's not a spa day (though those are nice!), it's resting in God.

Think about Moses. Leading millions of people out of slavery? Major stress! But scripture tells us he found strength and rest in God's presence (Exodus 33:11). He learned to depend on God's power, not his own. Same goes for David, the shepherd boy turned king! Facing giants and betrayals? He found solace and strength in his relationship with God (Psalm 23).

True rest isn't about doing nothing; it's about finding peace and strength in your relationship with God. It's about surrendering your worries and anxieties to Him. It's about trusting His plan, even when things get tough. It's about knowing that He's got you, always. ❤️

Ready to ditch the burnout and embrace true rest? Start by spending some quiet time with God each day. Pray, read scripture, and let His love fill you up. You deserve it!

✨ Feeling knocked down? Like you're battling giants? You're not alone! 💪

Remember David and Goliath? Total underdog story, right? David didn't have the biggest muscles or the fanciest weapons (1 Samuel 17). But he had FAITH, the ultimate weapon! He trusted in God's power, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Life throws curveballs. Job lost EVERYTHING – his wealth, his health, his family (Job 1). Talk about a rough patch! But through it all, he held onto his faith, reminding us that even in the darkest storms, God's love is unwavering.

Don't give up! Lean on God's strength, just like Joseph, who went from a prisoner to a powerful leader (Genesis 37-50). His perseverance, guided by faith, led him to an incredible destiny.

🙌 You've got this! Your struggles don't define you. Your faith does. Trust in the process, lean on God's unwavering love, and keep fighting the good fight. 🙏

WOW, you guys! Seriously, have you ever felt like David facing down Goliath? Feeling totally outnumbered, like the odds are stacked against you? 🤯

Well, let's talk about God's GOODNESS. Because even when David, a total underdog, faced a GIANT problem, he knew his strength came from somewhere bigger than himself. He trusted in God's unwavering goodness, and BOOM! Giant slain. Victory achieved. 🙌

That same goodness is available to US today! Whether you're facing a mountain of student loans, a toxic relationship, or just feeling super overwhelmed, God's got you. He sees your struggles, He hears your prayers, and He's got a plan, even if it looks impossible right now.

Don't let fear or doubt win. Tap into that same faith David had. Trust in God's incredible, unwavering goodness. You've got this! 💪💛
