"The Solid Rock"

1. My hope is built on nothing less
than Jesus' blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
but wholly lean on Jesus' name.

Refrain: On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand:
all other ground is sinking sand;
all other ground is sinking sand.

2. When darkness veils his lovely face,
I rest on his unchanging grace;
in every high and stormy gale,
my anchor holds within the veil. [Refrain]

3. His oath, his covenant, his blood,
support me in the whelming flood;
when all around my soul gives way,
he then is all my hope and stay. [Refrain]

4. When he shall come with trumpet sound,
O may I then in him be found:
dressed in his righteousness alone,
faultless to stand before the throne. [Refrain]

“We Come to You for Healing, Lord”
1. We come to you for healing, Lord,
of body, mind, and soul,
and pray that by, your Spirit’s touch,
we may again be whole.

2. As once you walked through ancient streets
and reached toward those in pain,
come, risen Christ, among us still
with power to heal again.

3. You touch us through physicians’ skills,
through nurses’ gifts of care,
and through the love of faithful friends
who lift our lives in prayer.

4. When nights are long with wakefulness,
through days when strength runs low,
grant us your gift of patience, Lord,
your calming peace to know.

5. We come to you, O loving Lord,
in our distress and pain,
in trust that through our nights and days
your grace will heal, sustain.

Give God your burdens
and hear the words
and feel his touch
"Daughter/Son, your faith (trust in God)
has made you well!" Amen!!!

The Nicene Creed proclaims,
We believe in one God,
the Father, the almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one being with the Father.

We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son
he is worshipped and glorified.

ONE GOD, YET THREE IN ONE
Is this confusing?

Martin Luther said,
"To try to deny the Trinity endangers your salvation,
to try to comprehend the Trinity endangers your sanity."

Paul writes in his second letter to the church at Corinth (Chapter 13:13) "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God,
and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with all of you."

"Come, Join the Dance of Trinity" singing,
Come, join the dance of Trinity,
before all worlds begun--
the interweaving of the Three,
the Father, Spirit, Son.
The universe of space and time
did not arise by chance,
but as the Three, in love and hope,
made room within their dance.

Within the dance of Trinity,
before all worlds begun,
we sing the praises of the Three,
the Father, Spirit, Son.
Let voices rise and interweave,
by love and hope set free,
to shape in song this joy, this life:
the dance of Trinity.

Let us praise God the Father,
God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit,
ever three in one!

“Holy Spirit, Living Breath of God”
Hymns of Grace w/Phil Webb

1. Holy Spirit, living Breath of God,
Breathe new life into my willing soul.
Bring the presence of the Risen Lord,
To renew my heart and make me whole.
Cause your Word to come alive in me;
Give me faith for what I cannot see;
Give me passion for your purity;
Holy Spirit, breathe new life in me.

2. Holy Spirit, come abide within;
May your joy be seen in all I do.
Love enough to cover ev’ry sin
In each thought and deed and attitude.
Kindness to the greatest and the least;
Gentleness that sows the path of peace.
Turn my stiving into works of grace;
Breath of God, show Christ in all I do.

3. Holy Spirit, from creation’s birth,
Giving life to all that God has made.
Show your power once again on earth;
Cause your church to hunger for your ways.
Let the fragrance of our prayers arise;
Lead us on the road of sacrifice,
That in unity the face of Christ
Will be clear for all the world to see.

Wishing you a Blessed Memorial Day.
We give thanks for all who lived and
fought and died for the freedoms
we cherish today and forever!
Bring comfort and hope to their families
that they may know you abide with us always!

"When [the apostles] had come together, they asked [Jesus], “Lord, is this the time when you will restore the kingdom to Israel?” He replied, “It is not for you to know the times or periods that the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” When he had said this, as they were watching, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. While he was going and they were gazing up toward heaven, suddenly two men in white robes stood by them. They said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up toward heaven? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.” Acts 1:6-11

In these days between Ascension and Pentecost, we gather with the disciples in the upper room, waiting for the Spirit to transform the church around the world. In today’s gospel Jesus prays for his followers and for their mission in his name. Amid religious, social, and economic divisions, we seek the unity that Jesus had with his Father. Made one in baptism, we go forth to live our faith in the world, eager for the unity that God intends for the whole human family. (Sundayandseasons.com)

Pastoral Prayer for Mother’s Day
John 14:15–21 — “The Love That Stays”

Gracious and ever‑present God,
on this Mother’s Day we come
before You with full hearts—
some overflowing with joy,
some carrying quiet ache,
all of us held by Your promise:
“I will not leave you orphaned.”

We thank You for mothers—
for those who gave us life,
for those who raised us,
for those who loved us with patience,
humor, and fierce devotion.

We thank You for grandmothers,
aunts, godmothers, bonus moms, and all the women
who have shown us what steady love looks like.

We thank You for spiritual mothers—
for teachers, mentors, neighbors, and friends
who have guided us with wisdom,
encouraged us with kindness,
and believed in us when we struggled
to believe in ourselves.

We pray today for those who celebrate—
for new mothers, expectant mothers,
and mothers watching their children
grow into the people You created them to be.
Fill their homes with laughter,
grace, and the peace of Christ.

We pray for those who grieve—
for mothers who have lost children,
for children who have lost mothers,
for those who long for motherhood,
and for those whose stories are complicated,
painful, or unfinished.
Wrap them in Your comfort.
Let Your Spirit breathe peace
into places where words fall short.

We pray for mothers who are tired,
overwhelmed, or stretched thin.
Give them strength for today,
rest for their spirits,
and reminders that they are not alone.

We pray for families of every shape and story—
for those held together by biology,
for those held together by adoption,
for those held together by love that chose them.
Bless every home where Your love is practiced,
even imperfectly,
even quietly.

Holy Spirit, Advocate and Comforter,
abide with us as Jesus promised.
Teach us to love as we have been loved—
with patience, with courage, with compassion that stays.
Reveal Christ to us in the ordinary moments,
and help us reveal Christ to others in the way we live.

And on this day, Lord,
may every person here—
whether celebrating or grieving—
know deep in their bones
that they are held by a love that will not let them go.

We pray all this in the name of Jesus,
the One whose love remains.
Amen.

(Thank you, Copilot)

Jesus said to him, “I am the way and the truth and the life." (John 14:6)

Karl Barth was lecturing to a group of students at Princeton. One student asked the German theologian "Sir, don’t you think that God has revealed himself in other religions and not only in Christianity?" Barth’s answer stunned the crowd. With a modest thunder he answered, "No, God has not revealed himself in any religion, including Christianity. He has revealed himself in his Son."

The early followers of Jesus were known as "The Way!" And rightly so, for Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Let us not look to our own ways but to the Ways of Jesus and we will find the Truth that will open the door to the Life that has been set free from fear. Walk, listen, and live in the light of God's love that brings forth the very best in everyone. May we surrender our ways to Jesus and invite him to be our guide and show us the honest to goodness truth that will set us free to love unconditionally. For in this WAY we learn to love as he first loved us! Now may the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Love of God and the Communion of the Holy Spirit be with us all! And "May thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." Amen.

"The King of Love, My Shepherd Is"

1. The King of love my shepherd is,
whose goodness faileth never.
I nothing lack if I am his,
and he is mine forever.

2. Where streams of living water flow,
my ransomed soul he leadeth;
and where the verdant pastures grow,
with food celestial feedeth.

3. Perverse and foolish, oft I strayed,
but yet in love he sought me;
and on his shoulder gently laid,
and home, rejoicing, brought me.

4. In death's dark vale I fear no ill,
with thee, dear Lord, beside me;
thy rod and staff my comfort still,
thy cross before to guide me.

5. Thou spreadst a table in my sight;
thy unction grace bestoweth;
and oh, what transport of delight
from thy pure chalice floweth!

6. And so through all the length of days,
thy goodness faileth never;
Good Shepherd, may I sing thy praise
within thy house forever.

John 10:9-10
"I am the gate. Whoever enters by me will be saved and will come in and go out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” It's a promise only God can make ... come into the gracious and merciful arms of the GOOD SHEPHERD! You are deeply loved!"
