Good, Tuesday morning! I hope you all enjoyed your Easter weekend! We did in our house! God is good all the time. In our house we do not celebrate with the Easter bunny, he does not come and show up to deliver gifts or candy. We started this only 3 years ago. It was a hard on me as a parent who always celebrated Easter with candy and toys. Luckily we were honestly so broke we couldn't even dye eggs. I was able to start teaching my children the real meaning of Easter. We were at Walmart on Saturday, there was a boy there about 4ish years old. He was having the biggest melt down ever, over a toy he wanted. His parents kept reassuring him that he has to wait to see what the Easter bunny brings for gifts. My kids are like what the Easter bunny what is he bringing us? So there I stand in the middle of the toy isle with the question of all time. I glimps at my 3 standing in the isle with me and say. " um what is Easter about?" they tell me "about Jesus dying on the cross and coming back to clear our sins." ( more or less) I look at them and ask. "what is Easter NOT about? "Easter Bunny" It was hard. We live in a world were Pagan Holidays are intertwined with Christian Beliefs. Where Bunnies who lay eggs, are real and leave you gifts and baskets. In our house we celebrate John 3:16 over the Easter weekend. But not just on that day we do everyday. Its time that Christians STAND FIRM and practice what we preach. God loves us so much, he gave us his only Son, Who died for us. Who wiped our sins away. He gives us grace, guidance, and love. Stand firm in him, teach your child that. Do not let them think this weekend is about a bunny, remind them of the cross. I promise it doesn't kill them to take away a imaginary figure. As we are all adults we know that the Bunny disappears as we get older, and we no longer believe. Is that what we want to teach our children? that as we get older we no longer believe in this weekend???
