Join us in prayer for Kenya, where heavy rains and flooding have impacted more than 54,000 households and caused the deaths of more than 18 people over the past week.

This deadly flooding event is one of many that Kenyans have experienced since the beginning of March, with hundreds of lives lost and tens of thousands of people displaced from their homes so far.

In response, UMCOR has awarded two emergency solidarity grants to the Nairobi and Kisumu districts of the East Africa Episcopal Area - United Methodist Church to support their emergency response efforts.

Please join us in prayer for those in the Midwest and Great Plains who were impacted by severe weather last night, including multiple tornadoes and golf ball-sized hail. We pray especially for the congregation of DuBois United Methodist Church in Nebraska, as their church building was struck by lightning and partially burned.

UMCOR is in communication with the Great Plains and Oklahoma annual conferences and stands ready to support their relief and recovery efforts.

Join us in prayer for those impacted by Super Typhoon Sinlaku, which struck Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands and the Federated States of Micronesia this week as the strongest tropical cyclone on Earth this year. Severe flash flooding and tropical-force winds caused widespread damage, destroying homes, downing power lines, and flooding the only hospital on the island of Saipan. As authorities assess the scope of the damage, thousands of residents are bracing for weeks without power or water.

As we pray, UMCOR is coordinating with the California-Pacific Conference of the United Methodist Church and stands ready to support their response efforts.

Join us in prayer for all who are being affected by wildfires in Georgia. Thousands of acres are burning in the southern part of the state, destroying homes and causing air quality issues across the region. As drought conditions worsen with little to no rain in the forecast, we pray especially for the firefighters and first responders actively working to contain the fires.

UMCOR is supporting the relief efforts of the South Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church through a solidarity grant that will assist displaced families and communities in South Georgia.
