The church will send donations to SSAM Africa – South Sudan African Missions – Africa, on December 15, 2025. “Proposal for Food Assistance Program in Aweil, Malek Alel (SSAM headquarters)
Dear brother Ron Hansen, the ongoing hunger crisis in Aweil, particularly in the Malek Alel region, has reached alarming levels, affecting thousands of individuals and families. This proposal seeks to secure funding of $7,000 from SSAM US to implement a targeted food assistance program aimed at alleviating hunger and providing nutritional support to the most vulnerable populations in Malek Alel. Our program will focus on immediate food distribution, community engagement, and sustainable practices to ensure long-term food security.
Aweil is currently facing significant challenges due to, economic instability, and natural disasters, leading to widespread food insecurity. Malek Alel, in particular, has been particularly hard-hit, with many households unable to meet their basic food needs. Over 60% of families in Awiel are experiencing severe food shortages, Malnutrition rates among children under five are above 30%, and the local economy has been severely disrupted, limiting access to food markets.
Our program will focus on:
• Families with children under five years old.
• Pregnant and lactating women.
• Elderly individuals and persons with disabilities.
Our primary target is to Provide essential food supplies to 500 families in Awiel and specifically in Malek Alel. The hunger crisis at Malek Alel requires immediate action to prevent further deterioration of health and well-being among residents. We believe that with your support, we can make a significant impact in the lives of those facing hunger in Aweil -Malek Alel.
