Camp Day 2: we had great worship and church services again - I’ve stopped counting the number of pancakes at breakfast, the sandwiches made for lunch, cases of water and gatorade. Not to mention the amount consumed for Taco Tuesday tonight. We had a fun afternoon on the beach - some got a little tan, some got a little cherry colored. Looking forward to Day 3 tomorrow …

Camp Day 1 - we made it to Orange Beach about 3pm, got checked in to camp and then unloaded at the beach house. We had our first worship service tonight and then home for midnight spaghetti. We’ve been here less than 9 hours and we’ve gone through a case of water, Gatorade, and assorted sodas, 5lb of hamburger meat, 3lb of spaghetti noodles, 2 giant jugs of spaghetti sauce, a loaf of bread and quite a bit of sandwich meat, and numerous snacks. Now for some sleep and on to Day 2….

Join us in praying for Devin as he starts his journey with the Marines. He has been really excited for this new adventure - he’s headed to Basic Training today for a few months, some schooling, then headed to his station in Japan. We are going to miss him in youth, but we are so proud of him!

We are getting ready for youth camp coming up in 2 weeks! This is our largest group we’ve taken to date - we will have a group of 21. We are also doing a different camp this year and will be responsible for all meals on our own - so we would love some help - attached is a list of food/snack/drink items we are in need of. It’s going to take a lot to feed this large group of teenagers all week so any donations are greatly appreciated! See Dallas or Brandi if you have questions. Tonight we celebrated Thrashers 13th birthday (which is tomorrow) - thank you to his mama and daddy for sending Suga Mamas Cupcakes for the group to enjoy with him. They were so yummy!! I think he especially liked the Happy Birthday serenade from the group!!

What a busy Sunday for our youth group! We had a celebration breakfast this morning for our graduates and their families where we presented them with scrapbooks filled with pictures over the years and letters from the youth/leaders/pastor/ministry assistant of the church. Then we went to lunch after church and participated in monthly food distribution with ELBC Food Pantry.

The last few weeks the youth have been working on poster projects researching Scripture and the Word of God. Tonight they presented their posters to each other and told us what they found! They all said they liked the process and wanted to do it again for another topic - so more to come! So good to see them get excited about it and to watch the work and thought they put into their project.

We are so proud of our Senior - Way to go Marley!!

It was a joy to award the first ever Dry Creek Scholarship tonight to Nanih Waiya seniors Marley Lowery and Karley Watkins. They were awarded this scholarship in recognition of their thoughtful testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and commitment to living out that faith in daily life.
Please help us congratulate Marley and Karley!

Some of the youth enjoyed the day at a DNOW event at Noxapater Baptist Church. Pastor Jason Willis brought us some great messages and the band was awesome leading us in worship. Thank you Kooper Battle for all of the planning that went into the day and for leading small group. Our group enjoyed the games, missions time, and especially the Q&A time. The theme for the day was “The Gates” - choosing the wide or narrow way.
