DON’T ARGUE WITH DONKEYS

The donkey said to the tiger:
– “The grass is blue”.

The tiger replied:
– “No, the grass is green.”

The discussion heated up, and the two decided to submit him to arbitration, and for this they went before the lion, the King of the Jungle.

Already before reaching the forest clearing, where the lion was sitting on his throne, the donkey began to shout:
– “His Highness, is it true that the grass is blue?”.

The lion replied:
– “True, the grass is blue.”

The donkey hurried and continued:
– “The tiger disagrees with me and contradicts and annoys me, please punish him.”

The king then declared:
– “The tiger will be punished with 5 years of silence.”

The donkey jumped cheerfully and went on his way, content and repeating:
– “The Grass Is Blue”…

The tiger accepted his punishment, but before he asked the lion:
– “Your Majesty, why have you punished me?, after all, the grass is green.”

The lion replied:
– “In fact, the grass is green.”

The tiger asked:
– “So why are you punishing me?”.

The lion replied:
– “That has nothing to do with the question of whether the grass is blue or green. The punishment is because it is not possible for a brave and intelligent creature like you to waste time arguing with a donkey, and on top of that come and bother me with that question.”

The worst waste of time is arguing with the fool and fanatic who does not care about truth or reality, but only the victory of his beliefs and illusions. Never waste time on arguments that don’t make sense… There are people who, no matter how much evidence and evidence we present to them, are not in the capacity to understand, and others are blinded by ego, hatred and resentment, and all they want is to be right even if they are not.

When ignorance screams, intelligence is silent. Your peace and quiet are worth more.

We had another great trip on October 12. We visited the Marcoot Dairy Farm Creamy in Greenville for a very fascinating tour with an outstanding guide, ate at the Ponderosa restaurant in Vandalia, stopped by the old State Capital building in Vandalia, and shopped at the Amish County Market in rural St. Peter. It was a very beautiful day.

Hi Everyone! This coming Monday we will be having our monthly JOY Bunch Potluck at 11:30. The chicken has been ordered and the drinks will be provided. Everything else will be potluck. I’m hoping for at least an attendance of 40. Courtney is going to teach us a trick. I hope to interview one of our members. We will have a quiz. There will be a lesson/devotional. We will close by singing a couple of songs. And who knows, there may be even more. Spread the word. Invite a friend. Come and join is. It’s going to be fun and rewarding.

Our first gathering of the new JOY Bunch season was this past Monday. We did something new and different. We had the Gate to Plate Food Truck bring us our dinner. Hamburgers cheeseburgers, pork burgers, brats, hotdogs, chips and drinks. Those hamburgers were exceptional! We had a little game to start with, then Casey Walk told us about the history of the food truck and what all she does with it. Then she and her mom, Terri Wolfe, told us about their Fall Boutique Boulevard and the charities they support through it. It will be Friday and Saturday, September 17 and 18. Sounds like a great event for the women and girls.

Our next trip will be September 23. We will leave from the church house at 9:00 then eat at the Pizza Ranch Buffet and Fun Zone in Wentzville, MO around noon. We should be home close to 5:00.

Potluck meal on Monday, October 4, at 11:30. Fried Chicken for dinner.

Those on the August JOY bunch trip had a great time. All 16 of us. We enjoyed the outstanding meal and time at the Gasthof Amish Village. The van ride is always a great experience with lots of visiting and laughter. I keep forgetting to take pictures. Sorry about that. I did get a few. Sorry Erma, I didn’t get you in the bus picture. Who is that down on the floor? Olney DQ was partially closed due to lack of help, so we stopped at the Flora DQ and boy did the do a great job!

NOTE: We begin our monthly potluck meals and programs on September 13 at 11:30. Chicken will be the main dish. Everything else will be carry-in.

Hopefully our next trip will be on September 21. More on this later.

Here is a change of information: Please take note!

The JOY Bunch August trip will be on Tuesday, August 17. We will be leaving the church house at 9:00. Note the change! We will be taking a little tour of Amish country around Montgomery, Indiana, then eating at the Gasthof Amish Village. Afterwards we will visit their bakery, the Flea Market, and the little shops. We will be stopping at a DQ on the way home. We should be home around 3:00. We still have some seats left so call the church office ASAP or sign up on Sunday morning.

We had another great trip with members of the JOY Bunch today. Not everything went as planned, but everything worked out just fine. Again, we want to thank Kevin Hammond for being our faithful, dependable drivers. Here are some pictures of our latest adventures.
