What are you worshipping?

When we hear the word idolatry, many of us picture carved statues or ancient temples. But Exodus 20 challenges us to look much deeper. An idol is anything we place above God, our careers, money, success, relationships, comfort, entertainment, or even ourselves.

This Sunday, we’ll open Exodus 20 and examine God’s command against idolatry. Together, we’ll ask some honest questions:

What has captured my heart? What am I truly trusting? What am I worshipping?

God desires our wholehearted devotion, and His Word helps us identify the things that quietly compete for His place in our lives.

Humility and self-control are qualities that seem increasingly rare in today’s world, yet they are at the very heart of Christ’s example.

This Sunday, we went over Matthew 26 and reflecting on the incredible humility and self-control Jesus demonstrated when He was betrayed, arrested, falsely accused, and willingly submitted to the Father’s will. Even in the face of injustice, He showed perfect restraint, compassion, and obedience.

What can we learn from His example? How can we apply these virtues in our daily lives, our families, and our relationships?

A dear sister in Christ, Beverly Harris, before being laid to rest, had one heartfelt wish: that everyone would hear the Truth. Her desire was for people to hear the Word of God and have the opportunity to repent before it is too late.

With that in mind, this sermon study focuses on Luke 13 and the call to repentance.

We rejoice in the baptism of our new sister in Christ, Alicia! ✨
Over the past few months, Alicia has been visiting with her family and has truly become part of our church family. Today we celebrate her beautiful decision and pray for her continued walk in Christ.
