Humility and self-control are qualities that seem increasingly rare in today’s world, yet they are at the very heart of Christ’s example.

This Sunday, we went over Matthew 26 and reflecting on the incredible humility and self-control Jesus demonstrated when He was betrayed, arrested, falsely accused, and willingly submitted to the Father’s will. Even in the face of injustice, He showed perfect restraint, compassion, and obedience.

What can we learn from His example? How can we apply these virtues in our daily lives, our families, and our relationships?

A dear sister in Christ, Beverly Harris, before being laid to rest, had one heartfelt wish: that everyone would hear the Truth. Her desire was for people to hear the Word of God and have the opportunity to repent before it is too late.

With that in mind, this sermon study focuses on Luke 13 and the call to repentance.

In a world where opinions travel faster than truth, how we are perceived as Christians matters more than ever.

In 1 Corinthians 14, we are reminded that even in the assembly, everything we do should be done in a way that builds up the church and is understandable to those around us. Our conduct, our speech, and even our attitude toward one another reflect not only on ourselves, but on the body of Christ.

Scripture calls us to edify, encourage, and pursue truth. That means being mindful of how we speak, how we act, and how others perceive the church when they see us together.

This new lesson challenges us to reflect on our hearts, our words, and how we represent Christ, both inside the assembly and in the world around us.

Gossip and slander are easy traps to fall into, especially in a world where opinions are posted instantly and personal attacks have become normal.

As Christians, we’re called to something different.

Ephesians 4 reminds us that when we learn Christ, we learn a new way to speak, a new way to treat one another, and a new way to pursue truth. That doesn’t mean we will be perfect. We will still sin and fall short in many ways. But it does mean we strive to grow, to be careful with our words, and to build up instead of tear down.

With social media, the trend has shifted toward attacking people’s character rather than seeking truth in Scripture. Even among Christians, it can become easier to criticize personally than to open the Bible and look for book, chapter, and verse.

This lesson will help us reflect on our hearts, our speech, and how we represent Christ in a loud and divided world.
