Save the date! Mark your calendar! In one week you will have the opportunity to GIVE FOR GOOD! There are many wonderful organizations you may choose to donate to. One we would like to put on your radar is God's Designs, Inc.
God’s Designs Inc. assists Louisville residents transitioning out of homelessness due to unimaginable life crises, such as domestic abuse, illness, incarceration, or emotional issues, just to name a few. Various social agencies assist these individuals by helping them to acquire a residence, but this is just the first step. When someone gets the keys to an apartment after months or even years of homelessness, they most often walk into a completely empty space; it’s a shelter, but not a home. God’s Designs transforms these empty spaces into a home by supplying a bed and cozy linens for a safe, good night’s sleep; a table, chairs and kitchenware so they can have a home-cooked meal; a couch so they can invite family and friends, suppressing feelings of isolation; artwork that lowers stress and boosts their mood; and bath linens so they can enjoy the warmth of their own personal shower. They are supplied with not only necessities but comfort items to provide dignity and encouragement, enabling them to heal and rebuild their lives.
On Thursday, September 10, God’s Designs Inc. will be participating in the Community Foundation of Louisville’s Give for Good Louisville campaign, the area’s largest day of giving. Various sponsors randomly award prizes to participating organizations so that your donation of just $10 could possibly turn into a $1,010 donation. Go to the official God’s Designs Inc. Give for Good Louisville Profile at www.giveforgoodlouisville.org/organization/Gods-Designs and click “Donate,” and pay by credit or debit card. You will be given the option to cover the standard processing fees, but it is not mandatory. Your gift will go directly to God’s Designs’ account to help “Make A House A Home” for a needy neighbor. An extra special contest held between 7:15 p.m. and 7:17 p.m. randomly selects donations to receive an extra $5,000, $10,000, or even $20,000 boost!
Remember, the campaign starts at 12:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 10 and ends at 11:59 p.m. Be the first to donate and God’s Designs could qualify for a $1,000 boost!
