The Louisville Muhsineen is a gathering of Muslim men ranging from ages 18-45 who cooperate in developing themselves towards being foremost in their knowledge, practice, & adherence to Islamic principles. Louisville Muhsineen is a gathering of men between the ages of 18-45 in the local Muslim community of Louisville, KY. We look to develop ourselves into well-rounded, skilled, knowledgeable young

men to benefit the community in multiple ways including fulfilling the communal obligations, to augment sincere efforts across the various masaajid, & to contribute to the health & well-being of our fellow Muslims. We have numerous workshops and will upload workshop recordings for our future reference and the benefit of the entire community.

The brothers of the Louisville Muhsineen recently visited the new high school campus belonging to Nur Islamic School of Louisville and assembled gym equipment including a leg press machine. Br. Abdulwaris Imin led a team of brothers to cut asphalt and dig holes to set volleyball post sleeves & basketball hoop bracket in concrete to be used by the physical education teacher there at NISL HS.

We have had conversations with Sr. Nouna Melkhair to learn more about fitness & sporting programs that she & others at NISL HS are looking to create for our entire Muslim community and have learned a great deal! May Allah grant them success in their endeavors to improve the health & fitness of our brothers & sisters in our local Muslim community!

This year marks the 10th year that Louisville Muslims gathered to invite to Islam, answer questions, & interact with visitors from all across the state of Kentucky at the Kentucky State Fair. Many brothers & sisters along with some of our members helped man shifts throughout the 10 days of the Fair & a few of our members helped plan this program.

We will also be participating in the planning & ex*****on of the Open Mosque Day coming up on October 13th at Guiding Light Islamic Center. May Allah reward those who helped these past 10 days and who will be helping with the Open House. Reach out to us if you'd like to help on October 13th, Brs. Our local nonprofit for Palestine, The Peace Dove, held their first 5K here in Louisville at Broad Run Park to raise funds for their feeding campaigns for those displaced in Gaza & to raise awareness of their infrastructure campaigns such as rebuilding destroyed & damaged masaajid & hospitals. Some of our men raced with Brs. Ward Abdellah & Walid Elmajbri among the first three to cross the finish line while other brothers including Brs. Abdurahman Bamedhan, Mahad Mohamed, Andre Serodio, & Muhammad Sylla helped facilitate different tasks that made this 5K a success!

According to The Peace Dove, this 5K had over 140 runners & walkers and raised thousands of dollars! May Allah reward every single person involved in whatever capacity they participated in and may Allah protect our brothers & sisters in Gaza and stay the hands of the oppressors and accept the deeds of all those who caretake our brothers & sisters in all parts of the world affected by wrongdoing.

One of our members, Al-Ameen Salaudeen, will be leaving the Louisville community this month and we had a relaxing get-together & farewell party for him.

We ask Allah to facilitate ease for him, grant him barakah in his new community and facilitate his adjusting to that new community, and increase him in imaan & success.

Our bond of brotherhood, bringing together brothers from the different masaajid, ethnic groups, & neighborhoods across Louisville, has been maintained for over 4 years at this point. We appreciate each & every member, his individual contributions both to our gatherings & workshops and his investment in himself to become a better son, husband, father, congregant at his masjid, & facilitator of the various communal obligations & needs of our Muslims. Al-Ameen was one such strong pillar of this brotherhood and will be dearly missed.

Some of our members joined brothers & sisters from across Louisville at Green Haven Cemetery. We worked with congregants from Alnur Mosque Islamic Center of Louisville KY, Bosniak American Islamic Center, Inc., Guiding Light Islamic Center, Louisville Islamic Center of Compassion - River Road Mosque, Louisville African Islamic Community Center, Masjid Bilal South & West, and Muslim Community Center of Louisville.

We ask Allah to accept all of our deeds from everyone present and everyone who contributed whether physically or financially. We fixed over 15 sunken & damaged graves, placed coping border around multiple of the newest graves, cleaned up trash & glass, and began putting up a new sign with the du'a for the المقْبرة (cemetery):
السَّلامُ عَلَـيْكُمْ أَهْلَ الدِّيارِ مِنَ المؤْمِنيـنَ وَالْمُسْلِمين وَإِنّا إِنْ شاءَ اللهُ بِكُـمْ لاحِقـون نَسْـاَلُ اللهَ لنـا وَلَكُـمْ العـافِيَة

Our brothers have recently dedicated upcoming weeks to sit with one of our local imams & learned shuyookh, Imam Abu Noor AlMoutem who is the imam at Muslim Community Center of Louisville. We are reading الأرجوزة الميئية (The 100-verse Poem on the State of the Noblest Creation), a poem on the seerah (biography) of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, authored by 14th century scholar Ibn Abi al-Izz al-Hanafi. Our members appreciate the rich illuminating details shared by Imam Abu Noor on various linguistic, mustalah al-hadith, & fiqhi concepts related to events mentioned in this work.

Surah al-Imran, verse 31: "Say, [O Muhammad], “If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.”"

A contingent of our men, led by Br. Mohamed Ali, traveled to Atlanta to give dawah to those attending the World Cup games hosted at the Mercedes-Benz stadium. Multiple masaajid including Alnur Mosque Islamic Center of Louisville KY, Guiding Light Islamic Center, Masjid Bilal South as well as our members sponsored the dawah opportunity. The brothers gave away 800+ Qu'rans and gave 25+ shahadahs during the three-day period.

Quran 3:104: "And let there be [arising] from you a nation inviting to [all that is] good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful."

A few of our brothers gave a public workshop on how to give dawah, its importance & proofs from the Qu'ran & Sunnah, and what requisite skills are needed. We emphasized the importance of knowing our audience and how proper etiquette dismantles the stigma around dawah caused by social media consumption & the influence of low-form marketing.

We also unveiled a project started from the Louisville Muhsineen called Louisville Legacy Dawah headed by Br. Mohamed Ali and had a call to action to encourage Muslims to engage with us - what questions are you asked by friends, coworkers, & neighbors about Islam to better help us help you answer those questions and use that data to guide our dawah efforts. The Louisville Legacy Dawah team will help organize Open Mosque Days at our different masaajid, public dawah activities, private thinktank research to understand what ideologies & '-isms' may be impacting our community, and more!

Surah an-Nahl, verse 125: "Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly] guided."

Our treasurer, Ahmad Hajisufi, recently had his marriage ceremony at Guiding Light Islamic Center and we joined him in celebrating!

May Allah grant & keep sakinah (tranquility) in his marriage and in the marriages of all of the brothers & sisters in our community, inspire the husbands & wives to maintain their bonds with contentment and with a focus on taqwa of Allah. May Allah guide those who are not currently married to find righteous spouses!

Surah al-Hujurat, verse 13: "O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted."

Many of our men helped facilitate the various Eid prayers, keeping an orderly & secure flow of brothers & sisters to and from the congregation. Afterwards, many headed to various farms to perform their Udhiya & Qurbani!

May Allah accept all of your prayers, your fasts, your deeds, your invocations, your charity, your service to your parents, your spouses, your children, your families, to the elders & youth, to the leaders, scholars, & the laypeople in our Louisville Muslim Community.
