•Grace is the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man NotBy works of righteousness which we have done

Titus3:4-5 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, 5Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost

•It is , therefore,constantly set at contrast with law under which God demands righteousness from man , as under grace he gives righteousness to man

(Romans 3:21-22) 21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

(Romans 8:4) 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

(Phil 3:9) 9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

•Law is connected with Moses and Works Grace with Christ and Faith

(John 1:17) 17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

(Romans 10:4-10) 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.

6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)

7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)

8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

•Law Blesses the good , Grace saves the bad

( exodus 19:5) 5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:

( Ephesians 2:1-9) And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

•Law demands that blessings be earned ; Grace is a free gift
( deut 28:1-6 ) And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.

3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.

4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.

5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.

6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

(Eph2:8) 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

( Romans 4:4-5) 4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.

5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

John 21:18-
Truly, Truly I say to you when you were younger, you used to gird yourself and walk wherever you wished; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands and someone else will gird you and bring you where you do not wish to go .

(19) Now this he said signifying what kind of Death he would Glorify God. And when he had spoken this , He ( Jesus ) said to him (Peter) “Follow me “ !

(20) Peter turning around saw the disciple whom Jesus loved ( John) following them; the one whom also had leaned back on his bosom at the supper and said ,” Lord who is it the one who betrays you ?”

(21) So , Peter seeing him said to Jesus , “ Lord, and what about this man ?”

(22) Jesus said to him , “if I want him to until I come what is that to you ?” “You follow me ! “

• right after Jesus asked Peter 3 times do you love me , Twice answered back yes and the third time Peter was grieved and said yes lord you know all things you know I love you . Jesus telling Peter to 1 tend my lambs , 2 Shepard my sheep , 3 tend my sheep .

Then Jesus tells Peter that when he is old ( verse18-19) someone will band his arm , and take him to where he will not wanna go and verse 19 says Jesus was telling Peter of the death he would die to glorify God and Jesus tells Peter follow me ..

What’s the first thing Peter does after all the vouching, replying yes lord to Jesus questions 3 times , being given the commission from Christ and told to follow him , what’s the first thing Peter does , He turns around !

1 . When we are called of Christ we have to quit looking around to see what everyone else is doing and questioning them , We are many members in one body with Christ being the head whom the whole body fits perfectly together . Submit to the studying , preaching and teaching and the purpose that God has for you

2. Quit asking why , or what about this one ? Jesus answered to Peter 3 times , Tend my Lambs , Shepard my sheep , feed my sheep ,, Notice the common denominator? Jesus said that to feed HIS sheep , Shepard HIS sheep , tend MY lambs .
The same Jesus said men shall not live by bread alone but every word that proceeds from the mouth of God , it is christ lambs , he paid for with his life , the sheparding of his sheep was validated by the resurrection, and the feeding of his sheep should be the rich nutrients of His word !

3. Jesus said to him if i want him to remain till i come , what is that to you , Follow me !

Everyone in Christ is His person , with thier own path , and thier own purpose . Stop looking at positions of people and proclaim the proclamation, Person and work of Christ ,, if we truly have our eyes fixed on him and following him , walking in the spirit and sincerity of consciousness of the Truth of the word of God we would stop looking to see what everyone is or isn’t doing and possible using that for an excuse of why we may not do our due diligence to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling!

I pray today we not only share the Gospel of Christ knowing it is the power of God to salvation, but that we also live it out in our lives , accountable to God , witnesses to those around us in spirit and truth , not looking at the person on the left or the right or what’s behind but focusing on tending Christ lambs , shepherding Christ sheep , and feeding Christ sheep ! Amen 🙏🏻

Imagine running into a battle with lack of armor and silly nerf swords and looking in the face of the elite Roman army dressed in full armor, shield and welding there sword 🗡️,, it wouldn’t make sense .

Ephesians 6:17 tells us to take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit , which is the word of God .

Study to show thyself approved unto God , a workman that needeth not be ashamed , rightly dividing the word of truth

This may seem far fetched, unrealistic, or maybe even silly . But let me explain something to you , if your not fighting the battle it’s because your not in the battle , Jesus said man shall not live on bread alone but every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God .

The source of Our Salvation

1. Its by Gods Grace alone

Ephesians 2:5-8 Even when we were dead in sins , hath quickened us (made alive ) together with Christ , ( by grace are you saved )
(6) and hath raised us up together , and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus :
(7) That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness towards us through Christ Jesus .
(8) For by grace are you saved through faith ; and that not of yourselfs , it is the gift of God

2. It was because of Gods love towards us,

Romans 5:8 but God commendeth his love toward us , in that , while we were yet sinners Christ died for us

3. It was to show Gods mercy , and the seal of his mercy is the earnest of the spirit which a believer is sealed with and God places his spirit in a person by grace through faith after hearing the word of truth , the gospel of your salvation .

Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness we have done , but according to his mercy he saved us , by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost

4. It is in Christ Alone , not our works , not our deeds , not our religions , not in the fake Christ preached around the world leading people astray in the way gate that many will go through only to suffer hell , but Jesus of Nazareth, the only begotten of Son Of God , who laid down his life , whom God set forth to be a propitiation for our sins , and whom filled the precepts of the law that he was Holy , faultless , and undefined , laid down his life paying also the penalty of the law and God validated this by the resurrection from the dead .

Acts 4:12 neither is there salvation in any other, for there is none other name under heaven given among men , whereby we must be saved

5. The Cross !

1 Cor 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness , but unto us which are saved ot is the power of God

Salvation means to be delivered , a place of safety ,,

I ask people all the time what did God save you from , and the response is usually a carnal response , but hardly ever do I hear a biblical response ,,

God saves those whom he will save , on my grace , through faith , that’s not even your faith but given in response of hearing the Gospel of Christ and the grace of God regenerates the sinners heart who was dead in sins and trespasses , who didn’t know God , couldn’t know God and couldn’t know the things of God and were in fact enemies of God and under the wrath of God almighty himself , this wrath was poured out on Christ while on the cross and God was satisfied with his sacrifice , when Gods grace shines in a dead sinners heart and he is by alive by the hearing of the word the gospel , Christ righteousness is imputed to the believer justifying him and affirming he is taken out from under the wrath of God and now has peace with God where the sinner was under the wrath of God has now been adopted into the family of God and joint heirs with Christ .

This is a work of God , by the will of God , to show the greatness of God , not of works , that’s the gospel

The good news of the gospel is God is holy and we’re not , we were dead in sins , a holy God can’t have communion with sin so Christ Holy Sacrifice satisfied this wrath and he died and suffered the wrath we deserved , it’s not just good news it’s the best news you could ever hear . We were without strength , there was no way to get to God and we were bound on a path to eternity in hell , but in due time Christ died for the ungodly . He paid the debt , he lived the perfect life , he suffered and God raised him from the dead . That’s the gospel of Christ , done by the power of God

Why do we have assurance in our salvation ? Because we couldn’t do anything to get it and if we had to keep it by works we would lose it , the only thing we bring to our salvation is our sin and the response is to fall on our face crying out praising the father and thanking the son and living a life that shows how truly grateful we are and sharing the gospel with every person we meet .

God left no room for us to boast in our works , but only to boast in him forever amen 🙏🏻
