Daniel 5 The Handwriting on the Wall
King Belshazzar made a great feast for a thousand of his lords and drank wine in front of the thousand. Belshazzar, when he tasted the wine, commanded that the vessels of gold and of silver that Nebuchadnezzar his father had taken out of the temple in Jerusalem be brought, that the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines might drink from them
- They drank wine and praised the gods H426 - 'ĕlâ - אֱלָהּ of (gold and silver,) (bronze, iron,) wood, and stone.
H426 - 'ĕlâ - אֱלָהּ - god, God
god, heathen deity God (of Israel) - H433 - 'ĕlôha - אֱלוֹהַּ - God false god
* What color was on the Statue Daniel chapter 2?
- Daniel 2:32-33 The head of this image was of fine gold, its chest and arms of silver, its middle and thighs of bronze, its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay
- Psalm 82 - I said, “You are gods H430 - 'ĕlōhîm - אֱלֹהִים, (sons of H5945 - ʿelyôn - עֶלְיוֹן the Most High,) all of you;
- nevertheless, like men you shall die, and fall H5307 - nāp̄al - נָפַל like any prince.”
- Isa 14:12 “How you are my fallen H5307 - nāp̄al - נָפַל from H8064 - šāmayim - שָׁמַיִם, O Day Star H1966 - hêlēl - הֵילֵל , son H1121 - bēn - בֵּן of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low!
H8064 - šāmayim - שָׁמַיִם - heaven, heavens, sky visible heavens, sky as abode of the stars as the visible universe, the sky, atmosphere, etc Heaven (as the abode of God)
H1966 - hêlēl - הֵילֵל - Lucifer = "light-bearer" shining one, morning star, Lucifer of the king of Babylon and Satan (fig.) (TWOT) 'Helel' describing the king of Babylon
* So Satan is what's giving power and authority to the Middle Eastern nations?
In Lxx Septuagint which is where a lot of people get their Bibles written 132 years before Messiah the Greek came Daniel had extra chapters - bal and the dragon.
In the apocryphal book "Bel and the Dragon", Daniel, a Jewish hero, exposes the Babylonian god Bel as an idol and slays the dragon. He then faces imprisonment in a lions' den, but God protects him. The story is a parody of Babylonian idolatry and aims to discredit their deities,
Daniel 9:5
Immediately (the fingers of a human hand) ( appeared and wrote on the plaster of the wall ) of the king’s palace, (opposite the lampstand.) And the king saw the hand as it wrote
- Exodus 31
And he gave to Moses, when he had finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, (the two tablets of the testimony, tablets of H69 - 'eḇen - אֶבֶן, ) (written with the finger of God)
- John 8:6 This they said to test him, that they might have some charge to bring against him. (Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground.)
* Yet it talks about opposite of the lampstand? Inside the book of Revelation where is he speaking from?
- Revelation 1:12-13 Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me, and on turning I saw seven golden lampstands, and ( in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man, ) clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash around his chest.
Daniel 5
Then the king’s color changed, and (his thoughts alarmed him;) his limbs gave way, and (his knees knocked together.)
* Didn't the same thing happened to Daniel and John ?
- Daniel 10:8 So I was left alone and saw this great vision, and no strength was left in me. My radiant appearance was fearfully changed, and I retained no strength.
- Revelation 1:17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last,
Daniel 5:7-8
The king called loudly to bring in the enchanters, the Chaldeans, and the astrologers. The king declared to the wise men of Babylon, “Whoever reads this writing, and shows me its interpretation, shall be clothed with purple and have a chain of gold around his neck and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.” Then all the king’s wise men came in, but (they could not read the writing or make known to the king the interpretation)
* Well well well here we are again old friend. You'd think they'd ask the previous guy who was there what happens when this happens.
- Daniel 2:4-5 Then the Chaldeans said to the king (in Aramaic,) “O king, live forever! Tell your servants the dream, and we will show the interpretation.” The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, “The word from me is firm: if you do not make known to me the dream and its interpretation, you shall be torn limb from limb, and your houses shall be laid in ruins.
- Daniel 2:9-10 if you do not make the dream known to me, there is but one sentence for you. You have agreed to speak lying and corrupt words before me till the times change. Therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that you can show me its interpretation.” The Chaldeans answered the king and said, (“There is not a man on earth who can meet the king’s demand,) (for no great and powerful king has asked such a thing of any magician or enchanter or Chaldean.)
- Daniel 2:16 And Daniel went in and requested the king to appoint him a time, that he might show the interpretation to the king.
* How many actually know about half of Daniel was written in aramiac?
Approximately 40% of the Book of Daniel is written in Aramaic. Specifically, chapters 2:4 to 7:28 are in Aramaic, while chapters 1, 8-12 are in Hebrew
* So the very chapters concerning the beast of Revelation is written in aramiac about a Western European Beast ? Yet Daniel is uncovering the dragon Baal in Babylon worship ? That they worship to ? You do the math. Steve or God's word ? Maybe that's why Daniel is the most attacked book ( 7:25 ) because of how accurate it is.
Daniel 5
Then King Belshazzar was greatly alarmed, and his color changed, and his lords were perplexed. The queen, because of the words of the king and his lords, came into the banqueting hall, and the queen declared, “O king, live forever! Let not your thoughts alarm you or your color change.
- There is (a man) in your kingdom in whom is the spirit of the holy gods. (In the days of your father,) (light and understanding and wisdom like the wisdom of the gods were found in him,) and (King Nebuchadnezzar, your father) (your father the king made him chief of the magicians, enchanters, Chaldeans, and astrologers,)
- Daniel 2:6 But if you show the dream and its interpretation, you shall receive from me gifts and rewards and great honor. Therefore show me the dream and its interpretation.
- Daniel 3:28-30 Nebuchadnezzar answered and said, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his angel and delivered his servants, who trusted in him, and set aside the king’s command, and yielded up their bodies rather than serve and worship any god except their own God. Therefore I make a decree: Any people, nation, or language that speaks anything against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego shall be torn limb from limb, and their houses laid in ruins, for there is no other god who is able to rescue in this way.” ( Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the province of Babylon)
* notice every verse confirms each other but when you open up a commentary you are reading man's opinion? Yet what's the difference in the Jewish Talmud with 2,000 ways of rabbis Arguing with each other?
* That's why your work ends up being Matthew Chandler and John Calvin and not inspired by the spirit.
Daniel 5:12

The prophet is a poet. His experience is one known to the poets. What the poets know as poetic inspiration, the prophets call divine revelation. . . . The inspiration of the artist is what is meant by “the hand of the Lord which rests upon the prophet.”

(Acts 11:27) in the religious assemblies of the Christians, they were moved by the Holy Spirit to speak, having power to instruct, comfort, encourage, rebuke, convict, and stimulate, their hearers (a poet ) (because poets were believed to sing under divine inspiration)
Daniel 5 Daniel Interprets the Handwriting
- Then Daniel was brought in before the king. The king answered and said to Daniel, (“You are that Daniel, one of the exiles of Judah,) whom the king my father brought from Judah.
* Idk who needs to hear this ( Daniel was Jewish from Judah ) southern 2 tribes.
- I have heard of you that the spirit of the gods is in you, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you (Now the wise men, the enchanters, have been brought in before me to read this writing and make known to me its interpretation,) but (they could not show the interpretation of the matter.)
* Guess it isn't wisdom from the " gods " then guess it was wisdom from ( one )
But I have heard that you can give interpretations and solve problems. Now if you can read the writing and make known to me its interpretation, you shall be clothed with purple and have a chain of gold around your neck and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.” Then Daniel answered and said before the king, “Let your gifts be for yourself, and give your rewards to another. Nevertheless, I will read the writing to the king and make known to him the interpretation.
- O king, the Most High God gave Nebuchadnezzar your father kingship and greatness and glory and majesty.
- Daniel 2:37-38 You, O king, the king of kings, to whom the God of heaven has given the kingdom, the power, and the might, and the glory and into whose hand he has given, wherever they dwell, the children of man, the beasts of the field, and the birds of the heavens, making you rule over them all—you are the head of gold.
- Daniel 4:22 it is you, O king, who have grown and become strong. Your greatness has grown and reaches to heaven, and your dominion to the ends of the earth.
Daniel 5
And because of the greatness that he gave him, all peoples, nations, and languages trembled and feared before him. Whom he would, he killed, and whom he would, he kept alive; whom he would, he raised up, and whom he would, he humbled
- But when his heart was lifted up and his spirit was hardened so that he dealt proudly, he was brought down from his kingly throne, and his glory was taken from him.
* Let's look at the similarities between King Nebuchadnezzar and the Beast of revelation?
- Daniel 4:16 Let his mind be changed from a man’s, and let a beast’s mind be given to him; and let seven periods of time pass over him.
- Daniel 7:4 The first was like a lion and had eagles’ wings. Then as I looked its wings were plucked off, and it was lifted up from the ground and made to stand on two feet like a man, and the mind of a man was given to
- Daniel 7:8,11 I considered the horns, and behold, there came up among them another horn, a little one, before which three of the first horns were plucked up by the roots. And behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking great things. I looked then because of the sound of the great words that the horn was speaking. And as I looked, the beast was killed, and its body destroyed and given over to be burned with fire.
- Daniel 2:40-41 And there shall be a fourth kingdom, strong as iron, because iron breaks to pieces and shatters all things. And like iron that crushes, it shall break and crush all these. And as you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, it shall be a divided kingdom, but some of the firmness of iron shall be in it, just as you saw iron mixed with the soft clay.
- Daniel 2:34-35 As you looked, a stone was cut out by no human hand, and it struck the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold, all together were broken in pieces, and (became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away,) so that not a trace of them could be found. (But the stone that struck the image) (became a great mountain and filled the whole earth. )
- Psalm 83:13 O my God, make them like whirling dust, like chaff before the wind.
- Zechariah 4 Who are you, (O great mountain?) Before Zerubbabel (you shall become a plain.) And (he shall bring forward אֵת ) H7222 - rō'šâ - רֹאשָׁה H69 - 'eḇen - אֶבֶן amid H8663 - tᵊšu'â - תְּשֻׁאָה of ‘Grace, grace to it!’”
Daniel 5:21
He was driven from among the children of mankind, and his mind was made like that of a beast, and his dwelling was with the wild donkeys. He was fed grass like an ox, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, until he knew that the Most High God rules the kingdom of mankind and sets over it whom he will.
- Daniel 4:30-33 and the king answered and said, “Is not this great Babylon, which I have built by my mighty power as a royal residence and for the glory of my majesty?” While the words were still in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, “O King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken: The kingdom has departed from you, and you shall be driven from among men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. And you shall be made to eat grass like an ox, and seven periods of time shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will.” ( Immediately the word was fulfilled against Nebuchadnezzar. ) He was driven from among men and ate grass like an ox, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven till his hair grew as long as eagles’ feathers, and his nails were like birds’ claws.
