Today Jesus Died on the cross!

Friday
On this day Jesus goes to the cross for you!
Times are approximate:
6am – Jesus trial before Annas and Caiaphas
8am – Jesus trial before Pilate
8:30am – Jesus carries His cross to Golgotha
9am – Jesus is crucified
12 noon – 3 hours of darkness cover the earth
3pm – Jesus dies = “it is finished”
3pm – The earth quakes and the Temple veil is torn from top to bottom.

Easter Sunday!
It is finally here! The day of celebration! Why is this day so important you ask? what’s the big deal?
This is the day Jesus rose from the dead!
His rising from the dead is the proof and the power.
The proof that He is who He said He was “the Son of God”
The power that He can and will change your life.
“9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Ro 10:9-10 NKJV)
That’s right, say with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus rose from the dead on this day and you will be saved!
He will use the same power it took for Him to rise from the dead and change your life. It doesn’t mean He will change all your circumstances, but it does mean He will change you. He will give you hope and security. He will fill you with love and compassion. You will experience His power personally by seeing real change in inside yourself.
So on this Easter Sunday - Confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus rose from the dead – you will be saved!

Saturday before Easter!
Jesus lay in the tomb all day on Saturday! Now dead from the cross, the devil thinks he has won. The devil celebrated on this day. Not so with everyone else.
Judas would feel such despair for turning his back on Jesus that he would take his own life. Peter also having great despair for denying Jesus three times before the rooster crow, today would go back to fishing for a living along with several of the other disciples.
You have known this feeling of despair perhaps for not being good enough or not doing enough. You have felt the times when it seems like God is no longer there for you. Your sins it would seem have so separated you from God that He just seems gone from your life (dead). You have known the hopelessness, the day of sorrow and regret. This day is the day of sadness!
But fear not because this is the reason Jesus came to die!
“18 knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” (1Pe 1:18-19 NKJV)
He is going to rise the next day and prove to the disciples He has not left them and His work is not finished. The same is true for you! He has not left you! He is still there for you!
Find rest in Jesus today. Let Him have your full attention. Give Him all your cares and trust that He is still there for you!
“28 "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 "For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."” (Mt 11:28-30 NKJV)
