Please join us in welcoming our new Pastor Monica Beacham!

Monica Beacham was born in Kansas but raised in Durham and Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She may not be a Tar Heel born, but she is a Tar Heel bred, and she went to UNC-Chapel Hill for undergraduate, majoring in English and Religious Studies. After a few years of working in Public Health, she followed a call to ministry and went back to school at Boston University School of Theology where she graduated with her Masters of Divinity in 2011. After graduation she came back to North Carolina where she received her first church. She served in Murfreesboro, NC for six years, where she met her husband, Chris, who is an educator. They were married in 2014 and in 2017 they moved to Cedar Grove, NC where they have been for the past nine years, and where they adopted their barely-behaved beagle, Rufus. Monica loves preaching, teaching, working with youth and kids, writing, and is a certified Spiritual Director. In her free time she likes to read, watch movies, get coffee with friends, listen to music, and occasionally bake things that don’t look very pretty but taste good anyway.
