All supper ingredients are donated.
100% of donations go directly to Eddie & Ginny for their ministry!

Giving Words is a nonprofit organization here in Louisa assisting single mothers and their children throughout Louisa County.

Lumberjack attire is encouraged!
Wear your plaid or flannel and jeans if you wish!

Suggested Donation: $8/person

Winter can be pretty, but it can also be extremely dangerous.

Therefore, because of the inclement weather approaching our area this weekend, the session of Louisa Presbyterian Church has voted to cancel worship and activities this Sunday.

There will be NO CHURCH OR SUNDAY SCHOOL this Sunday, January 25.

Please do not venture out. Stay inside, keep warm, and be safe.

And remember to check in on your elderly loved ones and neighbors. Be your brother or sister's keeper!

Thank you, Louisa Christian Church, for creating "Carrying the Cross Together" for our community this morning. We look forward to participating in this moving ministry for many years to come. (Pastor Sandi carrying cross in video.)

I don't know what you are making for supper tonight, but you can get out of cooking tomorrow night! And support a very important local ministry!

Tomorrow evening, March 4th, our Presbyterian Men will be cooking up pancakes with all the fixings to raise money for Giving Words, a local ministry that walks alongside single moms and their children offering car repairs, community, and faith-based support.

Serving begins at 5pm and runs until 7pm, and the suggested donation per person is $8. Since all ingredients are donated, all proceeds go directly to Giving Words.

So we are encouraging you to take off a night from cooking, and come enjoy a pancake supper with your friends, old and new, at Louisa Presbyterian Church.

And we will all be dressed in lumberjack attire--plaid or flannel shirts and jeans--so come as you are, or dress up for the fun!

For some, Thanksgiving is hard. If tomorrow will not be a Norman Rockwell table circled with family and piled with a feast, may you wake up tomorrow morning knowing that despite the challenges of this past year, be they cancer or mental illness, strokes or heart disease, unemployment or homelessness, death or estrangement, God loves you and has held you close through it all. And in that, may you feel gratitude, find a blessing, and know peace.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who made our 6th Annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper such a success! From the LPC men who kept the pancakes, bacon, and sausage plentiful...to the LPC women who kept the dining room humming...to our guests who kept the love and good conversation flowing...to those absent whose prayers infused the evening with grace and gratitude.

You have all been such a blessing to Giving Words, the recipient of 100% of the donations made that night.

Sunday's Blessing of the Animals outdoor service brought out several of our furry friends! A goat, a lamb, and a bunny joined a wide variety of dogs, including a wolfhound, which played a supporting role in the children's sermon.

The life and example of St. Francis of Assisi was highlighted in the sermon, and in the children's sermon, the story of St. Francis intervening on behalf of a wolf was shared.

Next year's Blessing of the Animals service is already on the calendar for September 29, 2024!
