After a death processing grief can be difficult, yet necessary. Why? It helps to except the reality of the death. It helps us to work through the pain, and adjust to life without our loved one. And finally grieving helps to maintain a connection to our loved one. Grieving doesn’t end however we learn to grow around it and to build new memories. 🌹

Gracious God — we are in a period of uncertainty.. and it’s time to make some decisions about our uncertainty. Sometimes we are scared, sometimes we are confused, and sometimes we just don’t want to believe we have to make hard decisions.Help us to trust you. Give us strength and wisdom so that whatever happens during this period of uncertainty, we continue to honor you. Thank you for hearing us.

“Trust in the Lord, and do Good...”

Prayer has great strength and when we pray it makes embittered hearts mellow, a sad heart joyful, a foolish heart wise, a timid heart bold, a weak heart strong, a blind heart clear seeing, a cold heart warm. It draws God, who is great, into a heart which is small. It draws the hungry soul up to the fullness of God. It unites the two lovers-God and soul-in a place of bliss where they converse long of love. - Based on Merchtild of Magdeburg

Lord, our Rock and Redeemer As we start our day, our weekend, provide peace and protection to each of us.
As we reflect on what’s going on in the world, in our country and in our neighborhoods, we thank you that you are unchanging, your character remains the same yesterday, today and forever. Lord, Hear our prayer on behalf of all who may be dealing with this Coronavirus and those who care for them. We ask that you pour out abundant blessings on them. As their circumstances change, we pray that they would find comfort in your unchanging love and care. May your hand provide protection, and strength during these times and may your spirit provide peace in their souls. In the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, and in the Name of Jesus the Christ. Amen.

Lord, our Rock and Redeemer As we end our day reflecting on our military forces around the world, we thank you that you are unchanging. Your character remains the same yesterday, today and forever. Lord, hear our prayer on behalf of all our military men and women who may be in harms way. We ask that you pour out abundant blessings on them. As their circumstances change, we pray that they would find comfort in your unchanging love and care. May your hand provide protection, and strength when times are difficult and may your spirit provide peace in their souls. In Jesus Name. Amen.

If you are moved by the death of Kristoff St. John who was deeply saddened over the death of his son, reach out today to someone who is grieving or dealing with mental illness. Henri Nouwen writes:
“Action with and for those who suffer is the concrete expression of the compassionate life and the final criterion of being a Christian.

Peace.

NEVER ALONE DURING DIFFICULT TIMES - HOPE ON BOARD - A couple of years ago I shared with a friend how happy I was. Then the inevitable happened, yet God continued to walk with me during those difficult moments. Walking with God during Pain and Suffering, written by Timothy Keller, reminds me that .....

Prayer for others, therefore, cannot be seen as an extraordinary exercise that must be practiced from time to time. Rather, it is the very beat of the compassionate heart. Henri Nouwen
