🪻Today marks the first day of Lent. For those unfamiliar or in need of a refresher, Lent is a 40-day (excluding Sundays) Christian liturgical season dedicated to fasting, prayer, and almsgiving. This period symbolizes Yeshua Christ’s time in the wilderness. Commencing on Ash Wednesday and concluding before Easter, Lent serves as a time of repentance, reflection and spiritual preparation for the Resurrection. The term itself originates from "lencten," which means springtime.

Key Aspects Of Lent

✔️ Duration: 40 days, spanning from Ash Wednesday until the evening of Holy Thursday or Holy Saturday.

✔️ Purpose: To prepare for Easter, cultivate spiritual discipline, and emulate the 40 days that Jesus fasted and prayed in the desert.

✔️ Practices: Fasting (abstaining from food or meat), prayer, and almsgiving (charity and service to others).

✔️ Symbolism: The ashes used on Ash Wednesday signify repentance and human mortality.

✔️ Meaning: This is a time for self-reflection, relinquishing luxuries or negative habits, and renewing one’s emunah.

🗓️ Holiday Announcement

Shalom everyone,

Today marks the second celebration of our church’s holiday, Ahavah Day! Scripture forbids us to celebrate paganism and to exalt people, so we created a holy holiday that exalts the Lord and brings honor to the entire family of Elohim that is meaningful and appropriate. Ahavah Day, which is divine pure platonic love of Elohim is to be expressed to them and to one another. So instead of saying “Happy Valentine’s Day”—which oddly implies it should be expressed to lovers—we (Unaligned Church) wish everyone in community a Happy Ahavah Day!

__

"True love, beyond mere physical attraction, is central and enduring—unlike infatuation, which tends to dissipate rapidly. Infatuation is transactional, primarily focused on personal gain, often resulting in convenience-based relationships where interactions center on what one can take rather than what they can contribute. Ahavah deepens and lasts with each thoughtful and selfless gesture. Elohim’s definition of “love” is not about how you feel about yourself or another person, but rather about what you do for yourself or for someone else. There are various expressions of love of course that apply to different types of relationships. Parent to child, your romantic partner and finally, the act of physical pleasure between you and your romantic partner. Ahavah is the core of who Elohim is and they love us by choice and we, their creation love them back, for they loved us first and later on in our history, showed us a deeper ahavah expression on the cross and also in our personal relationship with Elohim. May you experience the ahavah of Elohim in such a way that you it leaves you speechless and most importantly, helps you know you are seen, valued and beloved in Elohim’s sight."

Pastor Wilson preaches "Enough", the fourth segment of the Unshakeable series and challenges Christians and the unsaved to analyze the path they’re walking and to think about what it will cost to them. Sacrificing does come with either path and it shouldn’t be in vain. One of the paths requires your lev so you can be saved eternally and the other path requires your soul for all eternity in the worst way possible.

“Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same Theos which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit. To another faith by the same Spirit, to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit.”
