Commemoration of both the 250th anniversary of the United States and the first Independence Day include a 28-star flag raising that began in Los Angeles in 1847 by the Mormon Battalion and other U.S. units, followed by community festivities with local Californians.

All are welcome to relive such an historic event in both our country and the Church’s history!

The Addiction Recovery Program explicitly centers the source of healing and change in Jesus Christ and His Atonement. With permission from Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), LDS Family Services has adapted AA's twelve steps to help participants turn their will and life over to God the Father and Jesus Christ.

Using LDS scriptures and messages from our prophets and apostles, this program helps individuals experience the miraculous healing power of the Savior.

🥫 On May 9th, Thai CDC did our part to "Stamp Out Hunger" by participating in the annual National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger event.

There were 20 volunteers altogether between the LDS church and Thai CDC helping sort and bag nonperishable food that the letter carriers brought back to the post office.

Through an amazing day of service, we rose to the opportunity to step into our communities—to listen, to lift, and to build genuine relationships. We uplift our own communities! Upwards and Onwards!

A big thank you to all those who organized and participated in last weekend’s “International Feast” Youth Fundraiser! The turnout was incredible, with a variety of foods from cultures represented across the Stake. The (silent) auction is always a hit with wonderful donations of service, treats and gifts!

In advance of the upcoming general conference leadership session (April 2, 2026), The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced upcoming adjustments to the Sunday class meeting schedule to support members in their efforts to be lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ. The adjustments will strengthen gospel learning in homes and congregations throughout the world.

Beginning September 6, 2026, the alternating weekly schedule for Sunday School and quorum or class meetings will be replaced. Under the updated schedule:

• Sunday School, Relief Society, elders quorum, Young Women and Aaronic Priesthood quorum meetings will be held each week.
• Sacrament meeting will continue to be 60 minutes, followed by brief transition periods.
• Sunday School and quorum and class meetings will each be 25 minutes.
• Primary will continue every Sunday and will be 55 minutes, held while adults and youth attend their respective classes.
• Where local circumstances necessitate, units may begin with Primary and quorum and class meetings and conclude with sacrament meeting.

Dear Los Angeles Stake Family,

We have a very special evening ahead and we would love for you to be there! On Sunday, June 14th at 7:00pm, we will be holding a "Why I Believe" devotional at the Los Angeles Temple Visitors' Center, located at 10707 N Temple Way, Los Angeles, CA 90024.

We are deeply honored to have President and Sister Wilde — President and Matron of the Los Angeles California Temple — as our keynote speakers. Their message will be centered on one of my favorite scriptures: "...by small and simple things are great things brought to pass..." (Alma 37:6)

We love and appreciate the Wildes! They have served with tremendous faith, devotion, and love, and we are especially grateful for this opportunity to hear from them before they are released as President and Matron of the Temple.

Please join us — and bring your family, your friends, and anyone whose heart could use an evening of inspiration and testimony.

¡Los amamos y los apreciamos! Quiero informarles que el obispado será reorganizado este domingo, 31 de mayo, durante nuestra reunión sacramental de las 11:10 a.m. Tendremos la oportunidad de sostener al nuevo liderazgo del barrio.

La Cienega Ward Bishopric Reorganization — This Sunday, May 31

Dear La Cienega Ward Family,

We love and appreciate you! I wanted to let you know that the bishopric will be reorganized this Sunday, May 31st during our 11:10am sacrament meeting. We will have the opportunity to sustain new ward leadership.

We are sincerely grateful to those who have served so faithfully for many years, and we warmly welcome those who will begin serving. We recognize and appreciate the support and service given by the entire family of those who serve.
