Dear Los Angeles Stake Family,

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)

If you or someone you love is struggling with any form of addictive behavior, we want you to know that there is hope, there is healing, and you are not alone. The Atonement of Jesus Christ is infinite and can heal all wounds — including those that come from addiction in any of its forms.

We want to gently remind our stake family that addiction is far broader than most of us realize. It can show up in our lives in many ways, including:

Substances (alcohol, drugs, prescription medications)
Po*******hy
Social media and technology
Gambling
Food and eating behaviors (overeating, restricting, bingeing)
Shopping and spending
Video games
Work and busyness
Seeking approval or validation from others
Anger and emotional patterns
Caffeine and sugar
If any of these resonate — even in a small way — this group is for you. Healing Through the Savior is not just for those in crisis. It is for any of us who recognize that we have patterns, habits, or behaviors that we have not been able to change on our own and that we would like to bring to the Savior.

What is Healing Through the Savior: The Addiction Recovery Program?

Healing Through the Savior centers the source of healing and change in Jesus Christ and His Atonement. With permission from Alcoholics Anonymous, LDS Family Services has adapted AA's twelve steps to help participants turn their will and life over to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Using Latter-day Saint scriptures and messages from our prophets and apostles, this program helps individuals experience the miraculous healing power of the Savior. Countless individuals have found freedom, peace, and lasting change through it.

The Savior's Promise:

President Russell M. Nelson has taught: "Whatever questions or problems you have, the answer is always found in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Learn more about His Atonement, His love, His mercy, His doctrine, and His restored gospel of healing and progression. Turn to Him! Follow Him!"

Through His Atonement, no burden is too heavy, no struggle too great, and no person beyond the reach of His healing love.

What to Expect:

Group leaders and a facilitator provide a safe, confidential, and compassionate space where you can gather with others who understand, learn tools of recovery through brief readings, share if you choose, and receive the steady support of others who are walking this same path toward healing.

Meeting Details:

With Love,

President Ames
