Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Kristallnacht Commemoration Event presented by Adat Shalom Synagogue West L.A. on Sunday, November 9.

It was a powerful program featuring “Requiem Ebraico” by survivor Eric Zeisl, conducted by our Maestra, and performed by Kol Ha’Am: Voice of the People Choir, the newest program of the LAJS. Featured artists included vocal soloists Cantors Mark Childs, Elizabeth Kerstein, and Lisa Peicott, and LA Philharmonic cellist Barry Gold. We were also honored to have E Randol Schoenberg, Esq. speak about the musical legacy and memory of his grandfather, Eric Zeisl.

👉 Your feeback helps us secure grant funding to continue providing programs like this to our LA community.

🎤 Spotlight on Cantorial Soloist Elizabeth Kerstein

Cantorial Soloist Elizabeth Kerstein joined Temple Ahavat Shalom in 2021, where she helps shape the spiritual life of the community through music, teaching, and worship. Before her cantorial career, Elizabeth was a classical vocalist and music educator, performing with opera companies in Baltimore, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Pasadena, and serving as alto soloist at several prominent congregations, including Sinai Temple and Temple Judea.

Join us for a special Kristallnacht commemoration event featuring “Requiem Ebraico” by survivor Eric Zeisl — a moving musical tribute to his father and the victims of the Shoah.
