The Word for Today: What does “The Ark”, “S***m and Gomorrah”, “The Titanic”, “Pearl Harbor” and the “Towers” all have in common?
Revelation 18:4
“And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.”
In all of the afore mentioned disasters, in each there was a warning that was not heeded thus many people lost their lives due to either pride of the leaders or apathy with the masses. If any remembers the “Charlie Brown” shows they may remember how all of the “adults” sounded when they talked when addressing the “children”. They made a “blah, blah” sound. As per Matthew 13:13, when people struggle to accept a truth or they do not like what a person is saying, they also hear a “blah, blah” sound for they have turned their ears “off”. This is exampled by Genesis 19:14, for when Lot went to attempted to warn his family of the impending doom approaching, they only laughed and mocked him (Matthew 24:39-41). What is it that creates this inability to listen to warnings of others (Proverbs 16:18)? If any can or will recall the tragedy that occurred at “Columbine”, in the aftermath of it there was an interview with some of the parents of the victims. One interview in particular was Isaiah Shoels’s father in which he had confessed that when his son had brought to him repeated concerns regarding the two killers, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, Mr. Shoels ignored them. He cautioned parents that whenever your children come home with concerns; listen to them for if you don’t, they may become a victim. How many tragedies or even minor mishaps occur due to people ignoring warnings? People of today ignore medical advice and develop serious health issues. People of today ignore various professional advice and it affects their property. People of today ignore counselors, teachers and others relating to their children and their children struggle and/or fail in school. But the most important avoidance that occurs is as exampled by 1 Corinthians 10:1-12, the continued ignoring of the numerous warnings in the scriptures that “churched” people do regarding messages from Yahweh’s servants that has and will result in suffering of hardships and death (Romans 1:18-23). Yes, as per Matthew 24:3-12 and 2 Timothy 3:1-6, there are and will be numerous false prophets spouting off “stupidity” regarding the days that we live thus as per Acts 17:11 and 2 Timothy 2:15, the best way to determine what is of God is to examine the Word for yourself and then allow your heart to become open to Yahweh to see if the “concerns” are true (Proverbs 3:5-6, 1 John 4:1-5). As exampled by Acts 5:32-39, some will choose the “apathy” route and just sit and wait but this may create a false sense of comfort for in these days the scriptures warn of the dangers in this mindset in that when all seems peaceful and under control, disaster will occur (1 Thessalonians 5:1-3). As per Luke 13:1-5, no one will be exempt thus it is urgent that all are to engage in an intensive examination with Yahweh’s Spirit the warnings that are heard. As per, Matthew 3:2,Matthew 4:17 and Mark 1:15, the time is at hand to seek Yahweh before it is too late for how much longer do you think that “time” has left (Genesis 7:1-5, Acts 1:6-7)? Pretty soon, as per Revelation 22:10-11, He will command that the “door” becomes closed and there will no longer be an atonement for sins (Romans 1:24-28). Get in His “boat” and live.
