Received this message from the local unit UWFaith President at Crossroads UMC, which hosted the West District Soul Care event on June 6, 2026.

Proceeds from that event went to a local Mission in Compton, California, Restoration Diversion Services.
This local Mission is a Human Trafficking Nonprofit Organization, focused on uplifting victims and survivors of human trafficking, particularly s*x trafficking, as they rebuild their lives with safety, dignity, and resilience. Their mission is to empower and support victims and survivors on their path to freedom and self-sufficiency. The comprehensive support system includes housing, counseling, legal aid, job training, and sisterhood, guiding each individual to a future filled with safety, hope, and opportunity (SOURCE: restorationdiversionservices.com).

On Saturday, June 6, Crossroads UWFaith joyfully hosted the West District Soul Care event, “Nurturing Mind, Body, and Spirit.” Grounded in Matthew 12:28–30, Deaconess Jeri Okamoto-Tanaka inspired and refreshed participants with a message and activities that nourished mind, body, and spirit.

It was a wonderful time of fellowship, learning, and renewal.

The West District Leadership Team humbly offer thanks and gratitude to Crossroads UWFaith local unit, Crossroads UMC Sr Pastor, Rev. Dr. Adrienne Zachery and Crossroads UMC Trustees for their gracious hospitality in hosting the West District. A warm thank you to the ladies from Huntington Park UMC who graciously volunteered to to lead us in singing Hymn #344 “Lord, Meet Me at the Lakeshore”, verse 1, in both English and Spanish, our musician, Ron Dennis, R&J Dennis, LLC, and Deaconess Jeri Okamoto-Tanaka, J.D., MDiv, from West Los Angeles UMC.

We look forward to future opportunities to fellowship and grow together.

Join St John’s United Women in Faith local unit for their annual Flower Pageant and Stay-at-Home Tea

Date: Saturday, June 14, 2026
Time: 3:00 p.m.

Location: St John’s United Methodist Church, Social Hall, 1715 Santa Ana Blvd North, Los Angeles, CA 90002

Theme: Carrying Our Faith from Reflections to Restorations

Isaiah 35:1-2 emphasizes a message of Hope and transformation, suggesting divine intervention that brings beauty and joy, restoration and spiritual renewal.

All are invited to the Annual Flower Pageant which will include fun, food, a fashion show, and fellowship.

Acknowledging everyone’s busy schedule, take time to Pause, Relax, and Enjoy a leisurely cup of tea, in the comfort of your own home.

All are invited to donate to St John’s United Women in Faith’s “Stay-at-Home Tea”, a virtual fundraiser for United Women in Faith Global Missions Ministries.
Checks should be made out to St John’s UWFaith, and mailed to the address above.
