Twice a year, during New York's famous Manhattanhenge event, the setting sun lines up perfectly behind One World Trade Center. And from the right spot in New Jersey with a long lens, the Statue of Liberty stands directly in the foreground.
The result is this. Lady Liberty's torch appearing to ignite a beam of sunlight that blazes straight down from the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere.
No editing. No tricks. Just a photographer who knew exactly where to stand and when.
