Interesting Facts About Methuselah

He was Noah’s grandfather
Methuselah was the grandfather of Noah, the man God chose to preserve humanity through the Flood.

He lived during Adam’s lifetime
Methuselah was alive at the same time as Adam for over 200 years—meaning God’s earliest history was passed down firsthand.

Longest life, but still mortal
Even though he lived 969 years, Methuselah still died—showing that long life does not defeat death apart from God’s promise.

A sign of God’s patience
His long life is often seen as a sign of God’s mercy, delaying judgment and giving humanity time to repent before the Flood.

Son of a prophetic father
Methuselah’s father, Enoch, “walked with God” and was taken without dying—one of the most mysterious figures in the Bible.

Died just before the Flood
Scripture implies Methuselah died just before or in the year of the Flood, making his death a marker in biblical history.

Recently, while serving as LAPD Chaplain, Pastor Ellis met a financial advisor that serves members of the LAPD plus a variety of other organizations. Pastor Ellis recognized the value and made sure TG members obtained information on living trusts, estate planning, life insurance, etc. There will be more opportunities like this one coming soon so please contact Pastor Ellis for more details.
