I am with you in the springtime of your life, when joy is new, and when summer brings the fullness of your faith, I am there with you... I am with you in the autumn of your years, to turn to gold every memory of your yesterdays, to banish winter's cold... I am with you in the sunshine, when your world glows warm and bright... I am with you when life's shadows bring long hours of endless night... I am with you every moment, every hour of every day. Go in peace upon life's journey, for I am with you all the way. Amen.

Join the Catholic Apostolate Center in commemorating the of the Baptism of the Lord | Today the Church celebrates the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. This feast marks the end of the Christmas season for the Church. Though Jesus did not need to be baptized, in submitting himself to be baptized by John the Baptist, He provided an example to us. If even Christ should be baptized, how much more thankful should we be for the Sacrament of Baptism, which frees us from sin and welcomes us into the Church? โ€œIt happened in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized in the Jordan by John. On coming up out of the water he saw the heavens being torn open and the Spirit, like a dove, descending upon him. And a voice came from the heavens, โ€˜You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.โ€™โ€ (Mark 1:9-11)

Pentecost is considered the BIRTHDAY of the Church! ๐ŸŽ‰

It was right after Pentecost that Peter, inspired by the Holy Spirit, preached his first homily to Jews and other non-believers. He also tells the people that the Jesus they crucified is the Lord and was raised from the dead. When they asked what they should do, Peter exhorts them to repent of their sins and to be baptized. According to the account in Acts, about 3,000 people were baptized following Peterโ€™s sermon.

So go ahead, bake yourself a cake and celebrate! ๐ŸŽ‚
