As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. (Colossians 2:6-7)

A plant with no roots quickly withers away in the face of the scorching heat of the sun. The only way we will thrive spiritually, overcome difficulties, and discern right from wrong is if our faith is rooted in Jesus Christ. This faith in God, and not in ourselves or any other person, is what will sustain us to the end of our journey.

May we give with a cheerful heart whether it is through our words, our time, or our deeds. We know it is ultimately through our attitude that we bring the utmost joy to our Heavenly Father and that it is more blessed to give than to receive. As we go through our day, may God help us to show our faith and love in all that we do.
