Temple Isaiah

Temple Isaiah A Reform Jewish community on the Westside of Los Angeles.

Temple Isaiah is a leading Reform Jewish Synagogue in West Los Angeles combining the warmth and connectedness of being part of a family full of love and tradition with the energy and excitement of participating in innovation, social action, and tikkun olam. Every congregant, from our youngest preschooler to our most senior member, is an essential partner in building our community and deepening relationships with Each Other, with Judaism, and with God.

This morning the blast of the shofar greeted our preschool students at their first Shabbat of the school year! It was a beautiful moment in a lovely service led by Cantor Schloss and Rabbi Adam, and it reminds all of us Rosh Hashanah is coming! Do YOU like to hear the shofar blast, sometimes slow and sometimes fast?

With heavy hearts, we send love, support, and strength to our friends, colleagues, and the entire Central Synagogue NYC community. Last night, as Shabbat began, an individual disrupted Kabbalat Shabbat worship, defaced synagogue property, and assaulted a congregant. We are grateful for the heroic actions of Central’s security team, the swift response of the NYPD, and that no one was seriously injured.
We are all too aware of how familiar moments like these have become. We pray for a day when no Jew need ever feel afraid in their house of worship, and we remain committed to building a better, stronger, and safer future.
In April, Isaiah congregants prayed in Central’s sanctuary and were embraced with warmth, generosity, and a profound sense of belonging. Today, we send that same love back to our Central Synagogue brothers and sisters, who continued to pray after the attack and lifted their voices in song and celebration of Shabbat. May we, too, lift our voices proudly in celebration of Jewish joy, strength, and resilience. Central Synagogue

Temple Isaiah stands in solidarity with Pasadena Jewish Temple & Center following the hateful vandalism of its mural with swastikas and antisemitic graffiti.
After enduring the devastating loss of its synagogue in the Eaton Fire, this community created a mural symbolizing hope, resilience, and our shared responsibility for one another. To see that symbol targeted by hatred is deeply painful and unacceptable.
We stand with the entire Pasadena Jewish Temple & Center community and with all those working to confront antisemitism and hatred. May we continue to meet darkness with courage, unity, and light.
We are all responsible for one another.
