re daily. In 2008, the foundation that started New You Christian Fellowship was no more but a praise team led by Minister Johnny Perkins. He would hop in his van and pick up young and very talented musicians, artists, and youth from the local neighborhood where they would fellowship with various churches praising God and lifting up the name of Jesus through music. Minister Perkins realized he was called to further his ministry, so he armed himself with the Word of God by studying and seeking truth and knowledge. With a passion to save our youth, he returned to the church he grew up in, and served as their youth president for many years. He was later ordained as Elder Johnny Perkins under the supervision of Pastor Lucille Reitzell of Greater Victory Church of God In Christ. God called Elder Perkins to separate from his current role at Greater Victory and to start his own church. And it came to pass in 2011 with the help and support of his loving wife First Lady Patrice Perkins and Minister William Edwards. New You started in Elder Perkins' home, and rapidly grew with the love of Jesus Christ. After months of sharing buildings, God blessed New You with their own church building to hold services in Los Angeles, CA. In 2011, Elder Perkins sought out a covering to place New You under. God led him to the Metropolitan Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Southern California, where Bishop J. After confirming and witnessing God's call on his life in 2011, Bishop Hackworth installed Elder Johnny Perkins as a Pastor of New You Christian Fellowship. Since spreading his wings and adhering to the Word of God, Pastor Johnny Perkins has expanded his ministry to include Women of Promise (prison ministry), Community Service, and local events to reach out and witness to people from all walks of life. In spite of the challenges and obstacles, New You Christian Fellowship has been on fire for the Lord, all the while having new members join the body of Christ every Sunday to build the kingdom of God.
