People relax on a plane even though they don’t know the pilot. People relax on a ship even though they don’t know the captain. People relax on a bus even though they don’t know the driver. Why don’t they relax in life, knowing that God is in control?

It’s probably because most people only believe in what they can see. They may see the pilot. They may see the captain. They will claim to not see God though God’s work is all around us. It’s why Hebrews 11:1 is important. May your faith remain after all the other gifts are opened and the day of celebration has past. Happy Holidays to you all.

What am I to do this? That’s what I ask when I receive a message that I know may hit different. Well… the answer was share it anyway. Knowledge that no matter how we try to escape it, the Omni present is just that… all seeing and all knowing. And therefore your shields won’t cover what hasn’t already been covered and your way will be made out of no way before you even knew you had to go that way… and not just if you believe because that is the way as well as the truth and the corresponding light. This is my heart’s song… and it may be yours too but the sounds you letting in your ears may be drowning it out. So today, on this day, pause and listen to your heart. Make sure you are doing what you are doing because of the reason your heart supports. Not your cousin. Not the street committee. Not the people who are with you not to help you complete the task but rather because you completing the task will help them. (Thats gonna hit aomeone harder later…)

Don’t forget you. I promise you the omnipresent never did and never will. Amen. And say amen again.

Good Morning, We are aware of the fire last evening. We were already preparing for the next steps for the church. The pandemic forced that requirement. But we were hopeful the building and community would welcome our continued support. This is a loss. And a tragedy. And it saddens us... But joy will come in the morning. Pray for us. Today’s Message: do not run from your weakness, rejoice in it and KNOW that God showed it to you so that the world may see him through your overcoming that weakness. Whatever it is... realize that the world will see through your healing and growth the power of Christ!

In his letter to the Corinthians, Paul, speaking about God, wrote “but he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:9-10 ESV)

When you were a kid would may have wanted to Be Like Mike... but I’m here to tell you that you should consider Being Like Paul! Don’t run from those weaknesses or hide them in shame. Rejoice and let the lord use you to send a message. Amen. Have a great week!

Let us rejoice in the fellowship of a new week. As you endeavor to do the work both assigned to you and called from you, let us remember the teachings of our Lord in Matthew about it. There, the Bible shares that Jesus said “Let your light shine in front of men. Then they will see the good things you do and will honor your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)

You do not know who is watching you work today. When you cut that corner or stray from the protocols, you are teaching. When you follow the rules and do what is right even if it is tougher, you are also teaching. It is our responsibility to Honor God even in our labor because the way we do the little things help prepare us to handle the bigger things. Just like Jesus, we are also TEACHERS of men. Amen? As you endeavor through and engage in your day, reflect on the lesson my mother, Sister Peggy Briggs shared with me from herr Sunday School reading:

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." - Roman 8:28

Love is doing a lot of work in that verse. What is love and what does love mean to God you may ask. I surmise that showing God obedience to the last commandment to us - that we love each other as Christ loved the church - would be a good place to start. That should be our goal everyday including today. Amen, and Amen Again. Have a BLESSED Day!
