A Prayer
For them in the Philippines
HYMN 248. III. 1.

COME, my soul, thy suit prepare,
Jesus loves to answer prayer ;
He Himself has bid thee pray.
Therefore will not say thee nay.
Thou art coming to a King,
Large petitions with thee bring ;
For His grace and power are such,
None can ever ask too much.
With my burden I begin ;
Lord, remove this load of sin ;
Let Thy blood, for sinners spilt,
Set my conscience free from guilt.
Lord, I come to Thee for rest,
take possession of my breast ;
There Thy blood-bought right maintain.
And without a rival reign.
While I am a pilgrim here.
Let Thy love my spirit cheer ;
As my Guide, my Guard, my Friend,

And Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the Lord hath said will we do. And Moses wrote all the words of the Lord, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel. And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto the Lord. And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basons; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar. And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the Lord hath said will we do, and be obedient. And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord hath made with you concerning all these words.

throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. And the posts of
the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was
filled with smoke. Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because
I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of
unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.
Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his
hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: And he

heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The
sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before
the great and the terrible day of the Lord come. And it shall come to
pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be
delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance,

Prophetic Lesson
I Samuel 2:1-10
MY heart rejoiceth in the Lord, mine horn is exalted in the Lord: my
mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy
salvation. There is none holy as the Lord: for there is none beside
thee: neither is there any rock like our God. Talk no more so
exceeding proudly; let not arrogance come out of your mouth: for
the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.
The bows of the mighty men are broken, and they that stumbled are
girded with strength. They that were full have hired out themselves
for bread; and they that were hungry ceased: so that the barren
hath born seven; and she that hath many children is waxed feeble.
The Lord killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave,
and bringeth up. The Lord maketh poor, and maketh rich: he
bringeth low, and lifteth up. He raiseth up the poor out of the dust,
and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among
princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars
of the earth are the Lord's, and he hath set the world upon them. He
will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in
darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail. The adversaries of
the Lord shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder
upon them: the Lord shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall
give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed.
