Congratulations!

Congratulations to our 2026 International Rose of Tralee, Caoilfhinn Ní Choiligh. What a moment for Caoilfhinn, and what a night for Westmeath. At just 25, Caoilfhinn has been selected as the 2026 International Rose of Tralee, becoming only the second Westmeath Rose to receive the honour.

Her story has already touched so many people. After losing her hair to alopecia at the age of 15, Caoilfhinn turned that experience into something deeply meaningful and is now studying to become a wig maker alongside her work in retail. Tonight, after two unforgettable nights at the Kerry Sports Academy at MTU, Caoilfhinn received her sash from our 2025 Rose of Tralee, Katelyn Cummins and will now will make her way to Tralee to be welcomed by thousands at Midnight Madness!

Heartbroken to hear of the passing of The Rose Hotel owner Dick Henggeler. We were lucky to have him visit Arizona and attend our 2017 selection. His dedication and generosity to the Festival and town of Tralee cannot be matched and he will be deeply missed. Our hearts are with his wife Eibhlin and entire family during this time.

Dick and Eibhlin purchased the hotel in 2015 as a lasting tribute to their daughter Dorothy, who represented Washington D.C. in the 2011 Rose of Tralee International Festival. The hotel was rebranded as The Rose Hotel in April 2016 and, under Dick’s vision, became a labour of love—transformed into one of Kerry’s leading four-star-plus hotels, dedicated to delivering “Kerry Hospitality at Its Best.”

Dick was a forward-thinking, ambitious, and deeply courteous individual. He was a great listener who valued every opinion, a trusting leader who inspired confidence, and a thoughtful businessman who brought fresh ideas and energy to everything he did. His quiet determination and depth of character shaped not just The Rose Hotel, but every interaction he had with staff, guests, and the broader community.

Wild Geese Charity Walk 2024 -- Charity Walk date updated to this Sunday! OC Wild Geese Gfc

This year's charity event will coincide with a fundraiser that club member, Vikki Hurley and her family have organized. In December 2023, Vikki’s brother Desmond tragically died due to an accident while working at sea.

The Hurley family have expressed their gratitude towards two organizations that have helped them, Lost At Sea Tragedies, and Kinsale Maritime Parade.

Our club would like to show our support to Vikki and the Hurley family, by contributing to this fundraiser.

A charity walk will be held in Mile Square Regional Park on Sunday August 4th at 9am.

Event Details
Location: Mile Square Regional Park, 16801 Euclid St, Fountain Valley, CA 92708
Date: This Sunday, August 4th, 9am

Please enter the park from Euclid St and park in parking Lot A.
We will meet on the green area between parking Lot A and the restrooms.

Please note there is a $5 fee per car to enter the park.

The walking route is 2.75 miles and will take approximately one hour. It is on a flat, well paved path, and easy to navigate with a stroller & kids.

Dogs are permitted but must be on a leash.

Please feel free to bring some snacks and drinks for afterwards as there is a very nice green area that can be utilized after the walk has been completed.

Remember to prepare for warm temperatures and sun.
