The House
Core Values
I in them and You in me that they may be made perfectly one that the world may know that You have sent me and have loved them as You have loved me. John 17:23
My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples. Isaiah 56:7
It is our conviction that The House is called to do church holistically. That means that we will strive to live out what it means to be the c
hurch to the full capacity of the gifts the Lord has given. In John 17 three emphases for Jesus’ vision of His church can be traced out. Following this pattern, we have prayerfully developed ten core values that we are asking the Lord to use to guide His House. At The House we will strive to be . . . Worship

• Jesus Centered
Luke 24
Jesus said that all the Scriptures are about Him. This is true of the Old Testament (to which He was referring) and blatantly obvious in the New Testament with gloriously eloquent redundancy.
• Biblically Saturated
2 Timothy 3
All that we do will be intentionally Biblically informed. The regulative principle that says that worship must be “regulated” by God’s word applies to all of life because all of life, in a broad sense, is worship.
• Theologically Reformed
Ephesians 1
We subscribe to the system of doctrine in the Westminster Confession of Faith. While we may not agree with every component of the document, we believe that the general system that is contained there is the best the Lord has given His church.
• Whole Personed
Romans 12
We aim to worship with our heads, hearts, hands and homes. Our Lord deserves a whole personed response from us. Our thinking, our feeling, our doing as well as our communities must praise Him. Oneness
• Multi Generational
Acts 16
God is interested in the salvation of households. This has been the pattern all throughout the Old and New Testaments. In our Korean-American context, we have been given the unique opportunity to express this in worship and especially in oneness. This is the rationale behind having two services with one in Korean and one in English. We will worship periodically in a bilingual service and we will fellowship together consistently.
• Intentionally International
Isaiah 56
As our church grows, we will keep an eye on being international in our fellowship. We are praying that the Lord will show us what this will mean for us as the days and years pass.
• Intensely Relational
John 13
Our standard of love for one another will be Christ’s love for His church. More than program driven, our church will be relationship driven. The means of grace such as the Spiritual Disciplines the Sacraments and fellowship with other local churches will be practiced with a relational emphasis intact. Witness
• Mission Minded
Matthew 28
In witness, we begin with the heart, the mindset. Our primary goal is to Biblically bring glory to God. We understand that what brings most glory to God is the salvation of souls. It is the growth of the loving Lordship Community of the Trinity—the household of God. In all that we do, we will incorporate this outward perspective.
• Involved in the Community
Matthew 5
We are called to be the fragrance of Christ where we are. We are called to be a house on a hill. This means shining the light in our communities. Our people will be encouraged to join existing programs both Christian and Non-Christian with a view to impacting them with the Gospel as well as joining with them to do the work.
• Reaching out to the World
Micah 4
We will sponsor our own missions activities to the world whether it is Mexico or Cambodia or India or any other place where the Lord will lead us. At the same time, where the Lord makes it feasible, we will also partner with existing missions agencies and programs to promote a clear witness to Jesus in the World.
